Chance for STERN!! need some advice!

<p>Hi everyone! I'm an Asian and goes to a non-US system high school. Though I know this might be a bit late, but please comment on my chances and tell me what else I can do to enhance my chance of admission. Thank you!</p>

<p>Stats:
Studying in the best high school in the nation. I'm also in the Humanities Honor Program
GAP: 4.0/4.0 UW
Ranking: 1/20
SAT I: CR600 W700 Math800 (total 2100)
SAT II: Math I 780, Math II 780, Physics 730 (planning to take Biology in Jan and think I can get a pretty good grade)
My school does not provide any AP course or IB course</p>

<p>Is there anything I can do now to improve my chance of admission? I know my SAT I is pretty weak, but what if combining with other materials above?

<p>Take that Bio SAT! I am not too well versed in the new testing system for nyu/stern, as I got in when it was still the old way, but you do usually need 2 contrasting tests, or now 3 I guess if you dont want to turn in your sat1. Try history, as well. As english/CR isnt your strong suit, it wouldnt make much sense for you to take that test. Physics, Math, and History would work. I think you can exchange Physics for Bio if one gets high than the other.</p>

<p>In either case, you should be good. Your SAT1 isnt good, but the rest of your app is pretty stellar and should outweigh it.</p>

<p>I’d say you have a great shot. :slight_smile: My brother had SAT scores of 2120, and a poor GPA but still he got in. He had barely any ECs except for playing violin in the national symphony but besides that and a few charity work, nothing much. His ranking was only 57/135. And yes, I’m aware that sucks but I do believe his essay was quite brilliant though. You have an AWESOME shot. Good luck getting it mate. oh btw, he was Asian and studied in a non US high school too. Feeling lucky now? :P</p>
