SAT Superscore: 1900 (Took 3 times. I'm a senior)
Math: 730
Reading: 630
Writing: 540
EC: Particpated in school clubs, but not much other than that.

GPA: 79.4 Unweighted (School doesn't do weighted averages). I'm trying to raise it to at least a 80 by end of this semester

Also a lot of kids from my school (500+) apply to Stony Brook every year, and apparentally last year a lot of kids got admitted but ended up not going, so I heard this year they will be more stricter on kids from my school… Does stuff like this really happen? My high school is competetive and is well known

To answer your question in your second post – no, we don’t operate like that. Our application review is based on the application, not whatever your school does (or did).

Hi friend. Great job on your stats! I plan on going to Stony Brook too - it’s literally my dream school.

Anyways, I feel like you have a really good chance at getting into Stony Brook. You have strong SAT scores (unlike me; I have a 1100 combined CR+M and ugh I hope this doesn’t stop me from getting in) but like you said, try to improve on your G.P.A. Other than that, make sure you have a killer essay and at least two good recommendation letters.

Good luck in your college application process!!! I hope you get into Stony Brook! :+)
