Chance for SUNY Bing & Cornell EOP please!

I'm a senior right now at a NYC public high school

Gender: Female
Ethnicity: Asian (Chinese)
Income: Low. Both my parents are unskilled laborers and I'm the first generation going to college in my family.

GPA: 92-93 Weighted. Some sites say that's a 3.3 and some say its a 3.7. I'm not sure exactly which it is.

Freshmen year: I took all gifted courses. However my middle school did not offer any regents for classes that I completed so I had to retake the courses again in high school.

Sophomore year: All gifted courses and 1 AP (European History).

Junior Year: All gifted courses and 1 AP (US History).

Senior year: Currently taking 4 AP's (Environmental, English Literature, Government, Economics) and one gifted math course.

SAT: 1880 (600 CR, 650 M, 630 W)
ACT: 26 (Not sure if I should submit. Most likely not)

SAT2s: I'm deciding which to take. Since I'm more of a humanities student I'm leaning more towards the English and History.

ECs: I wasn't able to make time for extracurriculars during the first few years of high school because I had to take my sister to school and pick her up after school.
Freshmen - Senior: Asian Society/Peer tutoring/Volunteering at school offices
Sophmore year: Volunteered at a tutoring place after school, Volunteered at a assistant in a dental office during the summer.
Junior year: Paid internship on the weekends at the same dentist place. Managed Boys Bowling Team. Fundraised for games and bowling equipment. Volunteered at a tutoring place after school. Got a job from the same tutoring place during the summer.
Senior year: Job during the weekends at the dentist place. Managing Boys Bowling Team.

My AP English and AP US History teachers are writing my college recommendations. I was a student under my AP English teacher for 2 years and a student under my AP US teacher for 1 year. My grades were steady mid 90's, and they are very articulate writers so I'm hoping for two excellent recommendations.

I'm applying to Binghamton, Geneseo, Cornell EOP, Macaulay, Honors for CUNY.

please chance me, thank you!!!

bumpppppppppppp

bummmppp please chance!!!

Well 92 out of what scale? 100? I say you have a good chance to Cornell HEOP/EOP. for Bing and Geneseo EOP most likely too. (:

Yes, its out of 100 scale!
Do you think I can get into Bing or Geneseo with RD?

please chance!!!

Yeah that’s not bad. I know people who has similar stats and got in but then again, they look at other things too like essay, reccommendations… etc

Great chances at Bing and Geneseo.
Not familiar with how EOP @ Cornell, but someone I know got into NYU EOP with similar stats.
GPA puts you in the competitive pool of applicants for Macaulay, but admissions officers have told me that they usually reluctant to consider applicants with below a 1400/1600. Still, I encourage you to apply because if you don’t get in to Macaulay, the app also doubles as a regular CUNY app.

Thank you guys so much!! Cornell might be a far reach for me but Im really hoping for Bing

apply for EOP at binghamton just incase. If you don’t get the EOP, you will be considered for regular admissions.

If I don’t get in for EOP, I get pushed to RD instead for sure right? I heard somewhere it was first come first serve but I wasn’t sure. But yeah, I’ll apply to EOP if necessary. I’m taking another SAT this upcoming Saturday hoping for mid 1900. I’m planning to write about my concerns for smoking because of something family related. I’m not sure if that’ll be a good topic or anything, can someone give me any tips

Write anything you want. They just want to know who you are through any topic. and Yes if you don’t get the EOP, you go through regular admissions. 1900 might be too high for EOP so yeah it doesn’t matter. either way, you have great of a chance to make it to Bing. You might want to check out the school first? The school is literally in the middle of no where unless you don’t mind lol.

Yeah its in the middle of nowhere :frowning: Its also 80 dollar round trip by bus. Thats really awful but yeah. Thank you lilmelonred and attribute! You guys are awesome. I feel a little bit more relieved now. Thank you!!

I also want to know approximately how much my financial aid package can/will cover?
I’m definitely from a low-income family. With less than 20k yearly.

Possibly a full ride?
