thank u for reading and ill chance back if u put the link on the reply.

ethnicity: asian :P gender: male state: TX school: public gpa: unweighted - really close to 4
weighted don really matter i suppose rank: top 1.2 percent SAT: 2300+ ACT: not taking SAT II: 750 (language test which is not my native language) ,760,780,800 AP: 5,5,5,5,4 taking 6 more AP classes this year, so senior course load is rigorous. EC: UIL academics (captain), Marching and Concert band (some officer), DECA (VP - i led fundraising activities), Peer tutoring(VP - i created the website), President's council (some officer - i wrote a section in school magazine about college apps) athletics: golf, skateboard, lifting weights (just during my spare times) job: grocerty store for half a year service: volunteered at library, nursing home, and some peer tutoring. (not that many hours though...) summer: stanford's summer program, visit to my hometown, organized summer meets for UIL awards: national merit commended, ap scholar, top 10 in state for UIL, 1st in region and district for UIL, quite a bit of local awards from UIL, went to state for DECA, and school awards (which don matter much...) hooks: none (maybe the fact that i've lived in four different countries in my life and that i can speak four languages, some fluent some not-so-fluent) essay: about my teacher's influence on me recs: proly phenomenal counselor's rec: i don really know her cuz she is new but she is gonna write that in the rec so i guess it's fine

They’re pretty much all a reach. 2300+ on the SAT? You’re going to need better than that. You got a 4 on an AP test which will hurt you…your ECs are nothing special. Your grammar is poor so I doubt your essays are very good. Your counselor doesn’t even know you? Ugh why even bother applying?

Yale, MIT, Stanford, Harvard,Dartmouth, Princeton= reaches because you lack a hook that sets you apart from other applicants which is necessary to have a so called good shot at a school of that caliber.
Duke, Cornell, Brown, JHU, WashU= Matches

haha nah i don have to retake 2300+
r u crazy?
that only makes me look bad plus it’s at upper 2300 so it doesn really matter.
and my grammar is only bad because im writing on a forum.
i don really care about grammar online :P

2300+…you really don’t have to worry about the SAT. APs are fine too, one 4 won’t hurt you anywhere except Princeton and maybe Harvard.

you need a larger hook. but I’d say
Yale - mid-reach
MIT - high-reach
Stanford - high-reach
Harvard - mid- to high- reach
Princeton - high-reach
Dartmouth - low-reach to match
Duke - match
Cornell - low-reach
Brown - low-reach
JHU - match
WashU - match

i live in a city next to plano and plano is near dallas.
what do u mean by “minus the country/language thing which is a big deal”, so is it a big deal or not a big deal?
and thank u for chancing me

I think your stats are great. Don’t worry about a 4 on an AP test…that’s a GREAT score. I think you’ll get into Hopkins and probably Duke. Harvard and Yale would be mid-reaches because your EC’s are a bit weak, but your grades and course load seem like they’re on par with Harvard/Yale Standards. Same goes for MIT and Princeton. Stanford is a bit of a toss up…But I think you’re definitely into Cornell and possibly Dartmouth. Hopkins is definitely a match for you as well. Not sure about Wash U :

You are a match for Duke, Brown, Cornell, Wash U, Dartmouth and maybe Brown
As for Yale, MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Princeton I would give you a mid/high reach
I don’t really know the admission stats for Hopkins so I can’t say

For you, no school is really a reach. Youll get into many from that list. You should be able to tell where you can get in based off of how other top students from your school have done in the past. I think youve got a great shot anywhere though, but why not apply to the best school of all, RICE?

2300+ is golden enough.
You seem decent for all of those schools, top is reach as always but I can see you getting into Duke, Hopkins, and Wash U easy. Maybe Brown or Cornell, actually probably at least one.
