Chance for Toppies! Will chance BACK!

Hey, I'm attempting to apply to a few schools..

Don't worry, these aren't the only schools on my list. I am just trying to gauge my current stats, or considering a 1470+ (780, 690)?. I'm not sure whether or not to apply to these... that's why I need your help!

I'd love a % or a match/reach comparison, but please don't feel obliged to do all of them or any!

Thanks in advance.

Bump due to inactivity.

Well everything seems about average (EC’s, Gpa).
SAT’s are decent
Out of those i’d say most are reaches, NYU and GW might be high matches. your stats are pretty similar to mine and im applyign to those two places too.
good luck! :)

chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1028124-chance-me-please-ill-100-chance-you-back-right-away.html

Thanks!
Bumpity bump!

How successful are your websites, and how much time do you dedicate to them? That seems like an EC you can play up, especially if your SAT scores don’t improve as much as you’re hoping. The fact that you’re first gen will also help you. Write some killer essays, and your chances may go up. That being said:

-University of Rochester - low reach
-Georgetown - mid reach
-University of Chicago - reach
-Boston College - low reach
-NYU (CAS) - high match
-Carnegie Mellon - low reach
-George Washington University - high match/low reach
-Columbia (for giggles) - high reach

chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1026237-chance-worrywart-her-three-dream-schools-ill-chance-back.html

you could improve on the ec a bit but hopfully your sat can help that.

-University of Rochester: match
-Georgetown: low reach
-University of Chicago: reach/high reach
-Boston College: high match/ low reach
-NYU (CAS): high match/ match
-Carnegie Mellon: low reach
-George Washington University: match
-Columbia (for giggles): high reach

good luck with everything!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1027168-ed-penn-chance-pleaseee-senior-freaking-out.html

Awesome, thanks!

Any tips on improving CR?

Good luck to everyone applying!

BUMP!

Bumpity bump bump.

Stay alive, thread! STAY ALIVE!

There’s blood everywhere!!!

It’ll be okay! I can fix this!!!

Breathe!!! Please! I love you!!!

Your bumps cracked me up, haha. With a 1470, you could theoretically have a great shot at a lot of these places. You ECs aren’t stellar, but you could potentially get in with some luck and some great essays.

So here’s my guess:
-University of Rochester: match
-Georgetown: low reach
-University of Chicago: mid-reach
-Boston College: match
-NYU (CAS): match-ish
-Carnegie Mellon: low reach
-George Washington University: match
-Columbia: high reach

Good luck!

Chance me: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1029217-one-more-time-i-promise-ill-chance-you-back.html

Thanks for the input, but more importantly, thanks for bringing the thread back to life.

I just didn’t want her to pass without me saying goodbye. I have been putting a lot of pressure on her ever since the last thread died; it kinda hit hard.

Oh no, not again.

What if I asked nicely?

Pretty please?

Aight, with a 1410:

super reach- Columbia, Chicago

reach-bc, nyu

match: gwu, Rochester

how’s that?

University of Rochester: match
-Georgetown: low reach
-University of Chicago: reach
-Boston College: high match
-NYU (CAS): high match
-Carnegie Mellon: low reach
-George Washington University: match
-Columbia: high reach

Nice upward trend GPA-wise, and fairly good SAT scores. Your ECs don’t completely impress, like others said, but with strong essays and 1st gen, you stand a shot at all schools on your list. Good luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1027620-brown-ed-chances-i-chance-back.html

hey I agree with most of the above – Columbia, and Georgetown and Chicago as well, may be reaches, but your others are more likely for you to get in, I’d say.
Best of luck!
