Chance for transfer for college freshman please

Will be attending Penn State University @ University Park for Freshman year for coming 2011 fall & spring semester. Looking to transfer right after freshman year of PSU.

Taking challenging courses for dual concentrations but am
expecting a 3.75+ gpa with deans list.

High school GPA: 3.8 weighted
SAT: Math: 700; Reading: 720; Writing: 640 (Really bad timing for essay, considering a retake)
AP: AP European History 4, AP English Lit 4
Have taken many Honors high school courses
High School ECs: Too many too name (Most significant: US House Congressional Page Program, Student Body Vice President, HS Graduation Senior Speaker, Varsity Volleyball and many many many more clubs/accomplishments/awards)

Schools:

Georgetown (Top on my list)
NYU
Brown
Duke
Cornell
Univ. Chicago
Upenn

Any recommendations and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

If you think you can do better on the SAT Writing, then I would retake it if you want to be a competitve transfer canidate at these colleges.

Make sure to check with the various schools to see if they allow taking the SAT after high school.

Keep in mind for the writing section that the essay is only (I believe) around 30% of the score.

Also, maybe consider some liberal arts colleges such as Williams, Carleton (and Hilary, Will, Ashley, Vivian, and Phil…), and Wesleyan.

@imasophomore: yes colleges don’t really care when you take the SAT, they just care that you take it. Supposedly they don’t even want SATIIs for transfers. Thank you so much for the input

More replies please!
