Have you researched which of the Ivies will be a good fit for you…?

yeah i seriously hope you’re not just applying to all of them just because they’re “ivy league schools”

Don’t apply to all the Ivies. Narrow it down, pick a few that you’d really enjoy attending and would well fit your career interests.

I would also add a safety and 2-3 match schools. Unless of course you’ve applied already ;P

Your stats are quite excellent. I did QB and became a finalist. You can put it on your common app as a national honor if you earn that, so that would add to your already extensive accomplishments.

My only concerns are:
A. The Harvard rec. Only add it if it SUBSTANTIALLY adds a new layer of depth to your application. Otherwise, it doesn’t matter.
B. I forgot the other one. But good luck! Message me if you have any q’s about QuestBridge :D

How on earth did you get a recommendation from a state governor? blah, now I’m jealous. Obviously Ivies are reaches for all applicants, but I would say your chances are certainly better than mine!
Duke: high match
Florida: match
Stanford: same deal as the Ivies
UChicago: reach/low reach
John Hopkins: not familiar with the school

I’m only a junior, so I don’t know much about the whole process, but it looks like you have a really good shot at any school you apply to

Chance me please? any advice would be welcomed as well

@Dannyo95, Thanks for the help! I’m working on the QB application now, I’m going at a steady pace haha. I think out of the Ivies, I’ll apply to HYP + Columbia. Columbia is my first choice because it offers all the programs that I want to be a part of. Thanks again for the help!

NP. Good choices and good luck on QB!

Washington State University in STL?

Ivies can be anywhere from high reach (HYP) to low reach (Cornell). Penn, Brown, Columbia and UChicago are probably mid reaches. Duke is a low reach. WUSTL is a high match.

Alright thanks @bradybest!

Hate asking this, but what race are you ?

@LanaHere remove the state part haha, messed up there.

@SwimmingAsian I’m Armenian but I lived in Moscow for 7 years before moving to the US. (i started school in the US)

You are academically “competitive” for all of these schools. The only weakness I see is lack of national recognition (there are national competitions for debate, for example) and the ECs are all pretty plain vanilla. With your AP grades, you should be an AP Scholar with Distinction, not just AP Scholar. What will tip the balance is if your recommendations are truly distinctive and bring out “you.” The Governor recommendation will be a strong negative if just a form letter written by a staffer and signed by autopen. The Governor letter will have to be two pages to make it count, or at least provide such personal insight that the admissions officer knows it was genuine and not just something written in an attempt to “impress.” That always backfires. Finally – although too late to do anything about it now – you and others on this board need to realize that the Ivies and the other great schools (other than Caltech) place the greatest emphasis on SPORTS as ECs. Strive for State or National recognition in a sport and your chances of acceptance change dramatically.

For awards, I forgot to mention the National Latin Exam (gold 2 times) and the national academy of future physicians and medical scientists award. @makennacompton

Bumppppppp

Don’t apply to all Ivy. But you have a great shot at all of the colleges. Chance me- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1624266-chance-a-struggling-sophomore.html#latest

You REALLY need to narrow down your list. Your stats are excellent and I’d recommend cutting out a few of the lower-tier colleges on your list.

If I were you I’d cut out Duke and UChicago, and apply to two top-tier ivies (Harvard, Yale, or Princeton) with also one lower-tier ivy. Keep in mind though that nobody knows you better than yourself and you’re going to really need to sit down and analyze each college’s strongest departments to see what catches your eye.

" national academy of future physicians and medical scientists award." That’s not an award. You were selected to receive a sales pitch.

What do you plan on majoring in?
