Chance for uChicago, Stanford, UCB, UCLA, JHU, UCSD

Hi guys,

I just wanted some input for my chances for uChicago, Stanford REA or JHU ED, UCLA, and UCB.
Ethnicity : Asian (Indian)
Income Bracket : $200,000 + (according to my mom)
Unweighted GPA : 4.00, Weighted for Junior Year is : 4.85 (my school gives weight for honors classes, only reason it isn't 5.0)
SAT scores: 2320 (October 6th one just came in, I'm ecstatic)
PSAT: 224 (National Merit)
SAT 2: 780 Biology E/M, 800 Math II, 760 US History, 780 Chemistry (self study), 760 French (self study)
AP Tests : Calculus BC 5, APUSH 5, Chemistry 4 (self study), Biology 5, French 5, Comp. Sci. 4 (was sick with flu whole month, not really an excuse, just a reason why I was not able to perform up to par)

Schedule and Grades (starting from 9th grade) :
9th :
-French 2 (A)
-Alg. 2/Trig. (A first semester, slipped second with a B)
-Writing/Literature (A)
-PE 9 (A)
-Biology (A)
-Band (A...lol)
10th :
-French 3 (A)
-Pre-Calc. Honors (A)
-World Lit. (A)
-World SS. (A)
-Chemistry Honors (A)
-Teacher's Aide for Biology (A....lol)
-PE 10/12 (A)
11th :
-AP French (skipped Honors) (A)
-AP Bio (A)
-APUSH (A)
-American Literature Honors (A)
-AP Calculus BC (A)
-AP Computer Science (A)
Prospective 12th grade :
-AP Chem
-AP Lit.
-AP Stats
-AP Econ.
-Beginner's Drama for giggles
Really no other classes I can take senior year.

My grades all mostly all A's, one slip up on Alg. 2 Trig. second semester with a B- (83%) due to addictive PC gaming, but I fixed that really quickly.

Extra-Curricular(s)(sorta lacking here):
-Swimming JV for Frosh./Soph., then Varsity, couple of places, nothing too great.
-Swimming for SC swim center for 5 years
-DECA club 10-12th (most likely), Public Rep. Officer this year, next year hopefully VP Competitions
-French Honor Society 9th - 12th (honorary position on 12th because I will be done with all levels of French) President 11th grade
-Speech and Debate 9th - 12th. Right now I'm a co-captain LD, hope to make VP/P next year
-Volunteering at Cupertino Library (50 hours), local farm for middle schoolers (50 hours), and at UCSF Children's Hospital (50 hours), as well as Kaiser Permamenente (50 hours). 200 hours overall.
-UCSD Bioengineering Cluster 10th - 11th grade summer.
-Planning to do Stanford Internship 11th to 12th grade summer (High School and Pre-medical Student Stanford Summer Internship - Cardiothoracic Surgical Skills and Education Center - Stanford University School of Medicine)

Recommendations: Biology teacher for freshman with both semesters A+ (I fell in love with biological sciences this year), AP Calc. BC teacher (really made a bond, helped my struggle with differentiation, addressed anything I needed, really strong bond, still loving it), AP Bio. Teacher (again, loved the class, strong teacher student bond, fell in love with biology even more in this class, still loving it), and French 5 AP Teacher (I struggled really hard with the pronunciation until she taught me, really strong bond from freshman year, same teacher every year). Maybe my Chem. Honors teacher could recommend, he's pretty chill and we didn't really have a bond but I think he knew I was pretty bright . Counselor recommendation should be decent, he has addressed any questions I have asked, joked around with me in chemistry honors last year.

Intended major: Biology or Bioengineering (I still have to think about this)

Colleges :
UCLA
UCB
JHU
uChicago
Stanford REA
or JHU ED

I will chance back...please chance me :D

Bumpity 10char.

Bump 11char.

Cupertino = awesome school district and counselor should be able to give you best advice re Stanford since it is right down the road. I assume you are a sal/val, is that right?

If so, my guesses–Stanford SCEA better than 50/50 given your overall profile (how much better counselor could tell you based on past history there), Cupertino SD, and your familiarity with and work there. If you are more like top 2-3% lower chances at Stanford (but again counselor would know best).

Chicago = match, but work hard on the essays as they focus on them a lot.

Hopkins ED, UCB and UCLA = certainly matches and pretty close to safeties with your profile.

Yeah I can safely say I will become one of the valedictorians in our school.

And bump.

You go to Monta Vista, im assuming, lol.

I see everything as a match for you…your stats are incredibly
iwish my school wasn’t as restrictive as yours haha! (we have no honors, barely any aps)

Not MV actually, not even Lynbrook, good ol’ CHS.

Bump 11char.

Bump 12char.

Berkeley - match

Bump 13char.

Bump 14char.

Stanford REA: High match (low reach if RD)
UCB: Match
UCLA: Match
JHU ED: Match (reach if RD)
UCSD: Low match

Bump15char.

You’re pretty much in at all of these…the only one I hesitate to say would be a match is Stanford, because Stanford is difficult for anyone to get into. Despite this, I would feel pretty confident about your chances at every school.

If you could chance me back, I would appreciate it

Match: UCLA, UCB, JHU (ED)
High Match: Chicago, JHU (RD)
Low Reach: Stanford (REA)
Reach: Stanford (RD - you lack a hook)

wow nice stats. i think you have a high chance at all those schools

Yup I am worrying because I do lack a hook, and Chucago takes those essays seriously.

I do have a couple of research papers with some Stanford biology professors. they will also write recs for stanford for me. would this help my chances?

itd be a hook but not a guarantee obviously
