yeah. its pretty good. i think you will get accepted definitely. better than mine and i got accepted so yeah. you can aim for ucsd as well but it might be a little bit harder.

hm... nowadays, esp from this year. Certain UC's denied people admission if they were too "well qualified" I know plenty of people with high gpas and stuff, but couldn't get into UCI or UCD, but they could get into SD/Cal...etc.

So ya... personally

I had a 3.7ish GPA, 1740 SATs.., 590 and 650 SAT2 scores (bio and math)... ya you do the math. And plenty of extra cirriculars, didn't get into Davis, but I did get into Irvine. It's weird. =

What you said isn't true. The UC's don't reject anyone for being too "well qualified." Interestingly enough, every time someone attempts to make that point they always focus on GPA.

The UC's consider GPA one of many factors in the application process. Will a high GPA help? Certainly. Is it the only factor or even the main one? No.

In truth, you are basing your entire opinion off of hearsay and really don't know what people listed for work experience, volunteering, what their essays said (very important) and basically your argument is about as unscientific as is possible. I personally know two Cal alumni who score the personal statement portion of the application. They both say you would not believe the type of things people sometimes write, including the "stellar" applicants. An applicant may have perfect stats, but then torpedo themselves with a terrible, arrogant essay. Then all you hear from them was "my stats were perfect and my essay was really good." Then you wonder "hhmmm what the heck UC!?"

It's not weird at all that you didn't get into Davis. Every UC reviews the applications independently.

Anyway, I just wanted to clear that up before such untruths spread to other people who are also not capable of separating fact from fiction.
