Chance for UCR,UCSB, UCI, and UCD?

Hello~
I'm a senior coming from one of the best High schools in my area for academics, and I have applied to UC Riverside, UC Irvine, UC Davis, and UC Santa Barbara. (I WOULD of applied to Fullerton or SDSU, but couldn't afford to. But I'm curious as to what my chances would be for those too?)

• I live in California.
• I'm in the top 13% of my school.
• My weighted & unweighted GPA is 3.66. (Most my grades consists of A's and a few Bs, I had a D in geometry which I retook and got a B in, while getting a B in the other math class I was taking at the same time).
• I haven't taken any AP courses, though I have taken Advance Biology. (Though, I don't think that matters much?)
• My SAT scores are: Math - 430, Reading - 470, Writing - 520 , Total - 1420. (I know this is considered a low SAT)
• I've been on Honor Roll for 3 years of my HS career.
• I'm in the National Honors Society
• I've done volunteer work with kids and animals. (I hope to work in the medical field either as a type of Doctor OR vet. )

• I scored Proficient and Advance in my state testing in all subjects for 10th and 11th grade. (Thus making me a National Merit Scholar candidate, I came close to being selected. I was only a few ranks away.)

• I'm part of my school's yearbook staff. (Not sure if this matters to colleges?)
• I've been in my school's interact club, and I am currently in my school's Asian Student Union (Not because I'm Asian myself, but because I love other cultures and Asia is my favorite) and I may become an Officer~ (I didn't put this on my application though since it's recent.. but still good to know?)

If any further info is needed, please ask~ (I don't do sports due to having Vertigo, which rarely occurs now luckily~)

Also, I've never done one of these before so.. can someone explain the term 'reach' ?

Thank you!!

These are probably the most commons terms used in chance threads:
Reach = Your stats are below the middle 50% of accepted students. Your chances for admission are not likely, but anything is possible.
Match = Your stats are around the middle 50% of accepted students. Your chances for admission are good, but definitely not guaranteed.
Safety = Your stats are well above the middle 50% of accepted students. Your chances for admission are very good, and close to guaranteed.

Low safety/match/reach = Your chances are slightly better than a normal safety/match/reach.
High safety/match/reach = Your chances are slightly lower than a normal safety/match/reach.

Your SAT score will definitely hurt your chances.
UCR - High Match
UCSB/UCI/UCD - Reach
SDSU - High Match
CSUF - Match

It may be possible that you end up with no acceptances, so I would keep the option of attending your local CC in mind. Even if you do get accepted into UCR for example, CC may be a good option to save some money and then transfer to a UC or CSU. It could be easier to work a part-time job to bring in a little money while attending CC. If you perform well in CC, your transfer prospects can be pretty good for UCs and CSUs. Just trying to give your some options to think about! Best of luck.

Thanks for explaining the common terms~
They make more sense now.

Yeah, I definitely have one CC in mind. I only thought of CCs for the money aspect of them, didn’t think of them helping me get into a UC or CSU. =o

Thank you for your reply and advice! I appreciate it. =)
