i wanted to know if uc's connsider my reading score since i have been here in the us just for a year

thank you

Some might give you a break on CR, but in general given UC GPA and other scores, you’re looking at the lower UCs like UCSC, UCR and UCM. It would not hurt to try at the mid tiers.

Keep in mind, if you are not a citizen and did not attend high school in CA for at least 3 years, you’ll be expected to pay OOS tuition of almost $50K/yr. If that’s the case, you may want to also look at private schools which are less formulaic in approach to admissions and may give you a bigger break on the scores.

actually my goal is UC davis what do you think of that?
and my sat 2 s are:

math2: 800
physics: 700

why they don’t look at my writing, which is not bad by the way???

not fair!!!

They do look at your writing, they ask to read your ‘personal statement’.

Your SAT II scores look good enough for UCD. Adding to hmom5’s: if you are not a CA resident, you may be facing a harsher elimination.

My suggestion: write a nice personal statement, send in your application(s), then wait patiently for the envelope(s). Good luck, I hope you will get the big one(s).

yeah, i have mentioned in my essay that i’ve been here for just a year. but the problem is i’m OOS so i don’t know if in this budget crisis this is a good thig or not???
