Chance for UCs, UMich, CMU, Stern please!

Hey, I'm a student from an international school, and my main reason for asking you all to chance me is because I've been very worried about my low cumulative GPA, which is 3.65.
During my freshman year, I had a 3.4 GPA, and by junior year I have kept a 4.0 for 3 semesters straight. How worried should I be? How much does my significant upward curve help me? Here are my stats:

GPAs:
Unweighted Cumulative GPA: 3.65
UC GPA: 4.1
9th-12th grade Unweighted GPA: 3.87

Classes:
Full IB Diploma (which is the most my school offers),
Higher Level Physics, Economics, Math, Japanese
Standard Level Chemistry, English

Tests:
SAT I: 2180
700 writing, 780 math, 700 reading
SAT II: 800 math 2

Awards:

AMC 10: 132, school record
AIME: 8, school record
Speech Contest Medalist,
Service Award,

ECs:
Elected Vice President of High school for 2 consecutive years (first student to do so at my school)

President/Co-founder of the Math Team, which has ranked in a few significant competitions.

I have been the private tutor of 8 kids, whose ages range from 8-17 years old.

I have a few other average EC activities such as International Orchestra conference, volunteering activities, etc.

My recommendations/essays are good, not really game-changing though.

Some schools I have applied to are: UC Berkeley, UCLA, University of Michigan, Carnegie Mellon, and NYU Stern.

What are my general chances at these universities?

Thank you!

Good chance at all.

Thanks!
But ugh, I meant to write 3.87 Unweighted GPA 10th-12th grade

Your extracurrics should be able to pull you through a slight GPA dip in freshman year, and otherwise your stats are pretty stellar. I’d say Berkeley and LA for sure, but then again, who knows, I’m not an admissions officer… UMich and CMU look set, too. Not as sure about Stern, but really, you look like you have a fair shot at anything.

thanks!
How tough is the admissions to Stern?
please keep chancing!

Uc Berkeley and CMU are the only colleges which are not exactly matches though you still have a extremely good chance at both of them… the rest are matches and i think you should make it into all of them!!

Chance back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1060886-chance-hopeful-will-chance-back-2.html</a></p>

You have amazing chances for pretty much all of them…
Just UCLA/CMU will be high match to low reach

Chance me back plz?

bump,
more please, i’ll chance back!

We are on the same boat. I applied almost the same schools you did. My stats very
similar to you. unwt 3.71 et. 3.96
SAT1 2200( R700 M800 W690)
satII Math2 800, physics 800 History 770
Why do you have only 1 subject test score ? UC needs at least 2, 3 is even better
I just received UC Berkeley special request for additional teacher recommendation letter
and 1st semester senior grades a few days ago. I replied all yesterday. Hopefully that’s
a gesture of interest in me. My senior grades are all As’ in English, Honor econ, AP AB Calculus, AP physics, and College music theory.

I believe you have a chance like me provided your other subject test score did well too.
Good luck

aagh I didnt receive a UC berekeley special request though :(

Bump
help me out here!

I guess our stats are somewhat similar.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1077823-chance-back-100-chance-me-cornell-cmu-nu-mit-cu-etc.html</a></p>

I must say…your GPA does hurt you quite a bit. But because you managed to get 4.0 your last three years, i wouldn’t sweat it.

Good chance at all but CMU and UC Berkeley.

CMU - High match/ low reach
UCB - low reach

thanks dhs.

I was hoping CMU and the UCs would be “easier” because they don’t count my freshman year GPA, in which case I would have 3.85+ GPA.

BUMP… any comments guys? i’ll chance back

bump againn
