Participating in a selective program for seniors in my county who are interested in a career in medicine. 13 kids are accepted out of my entire county. The course load is VERY intense. 3 days out of the week are spent shadowing doctors to gain clinical experience.</p>

<p>Hmm, imo you application is strong however youre GPA really brings you down a lot.
If it was in the 4+ range you would be a match for most of the schools. UCLA and UCB hardly accept many students below a gpa of 4.0 so that will make things hard for you.</p>

<p>Realized I made a mistake…UC GPA is actually a 3.9(again, would be even higher if the UC approved honors courses from NY)…my regular weighted is a 3.6 due to poor grades freshman year but theres a pretty big upward trend in my grades. hope this helps!</p>
