Chance for UC's

I am applying to UC Davis, Irvine, LA, and Berkeley, as well as CSU Cal Poly SLO. The UC's are all to general biology/biochemistry, and to Cal Poly I am applied under Biomedical Engineering.

I am a California resident.
GPA
(total, unweighted): 3.81
(total, weighted): 4.10
(10-12, weighted): 4.31

ACT scores: 32-Composite, 30-English, 30-Math, 34-Reading, 32-Science, 28-English/Writing
SAT Subject Scores: 770-Biology (Molecular), 690-Chemistry, 640-Math II

Extracurriculars, I performed my school's shows, 2 per year, a lot of rehearsal time (averaging 10-15 hours a week,) and I was given the leadership role of leading warm-ups.
Other than that, I am lacking. I hosted a foreign exchange student for 6 months. Very scattered community service.
My essays, although in progress, will be "good," on a scale of "bad"-"excellent".

Thanks for any advice and consultation.

LA and Berkeley are reaches but your ACT score will definitely help. Good luck!

UCLA: Match
UCB: High Match
UCI: Safety
Cal Poly SLO: Safety

To include AP scores (as well as a sort of bump), I got a 4 in AP Euro. a 4 in AP US History, and a 5 in AP Bio.

Assuming you write average essays

UC Davis - low match
Irvine - low match
LA - high match
Berkeley - high match / low reach
CSU Cal Poly SLO - low match

Spend a lot of time on your essays. Your grades are within the range of UCLA and Berkeley but those schools are known to reject a lot of people with grades and scores better than yours.

what does high match mean?
