bump

Pretty good. May be a match, low low reach

Math + CS is significantly easier to get into than Eng CS. I think you have a good chance although the reading may hurt a bit just because its so low. Good luck and perhaps we may see eachother in LSA (same major for me as well!)

@yodude51‌ oh alright cool! Do you know if you can do masters in CS once you finish a BS in this major?? And how about the prestige? compared to ENG? Is there that much of a difference?

CS in ENG is extremely competitive with an admission average ACT above 34. For CS and Math in LAS (not LSA), it should be a high match for in state and a low reach for OOS with ACT 31.

As far as prestige goes, I believe that it is pretty much the same. I asked a similar question about cc and got this answer
"Both CS programs take the same core CS courses. CS Engineering just requires the Engineering core (Chemistry, Physics, etc.) and CS LAS follows the LAS core (extra semester of foreign language) and also requires extra math or stats courses if you’re a CS/Math or CS/Stats major.

In CS engineering you are eligible for engineering scholarships and the 5-year combined BS/MCS and BS/MS program."
So unfortunately in LAS we cant go for the 5 year BS/MS. Here is some more info on the major differences if you want them.

@yodude51‌ oh alright, what if we wanna do master’s tho? can we? Like will the courses be there after getting a BS, to get a masters?
