I think that you’ll have a very solid chance of being admitted to UMD.
For Clark, you have a good, but not great shot. You should ask someone like @maryversity about transferring into engineering, just in case.
Your EC’s and Curriculor rigor are very good, and a good essay will do nothing but help.
I really want to get into the clark school… ive read about the in-school transfer, but direct admission to the clark school is a bit of a pride thing to me.
talk to the Univ. MD admission counselor and check your stats with the freshmen for Clark. You would want a high Math SAT.
The good thing is, you’re a junior, so you have time to retake the SAT before the EA deadline. I’d personally sign up for another SAT sitting so you can raise your CR&M just a little bit. You’d want to be on the 75th percentile for SAT scores in order to have a really good shot (low match) for a direct admittance and maybe compensate for a slightly lackluster UW GPA (weighted looks very good, though - like, really good). Keep in mind that the 75th percentile for the Clark school, not just UMD itself.
I have no doubt you’ll be admitted to the University itself, it’s just Clark that’s a little iffy. As mentioned previously, @maryversity just recently posted a really informative thread about the Clark school, check that out if you haven’t already.
Also, don’t forget to apply EA. UMD takes 80% of their freshman class from the early action pool, that’s not a statistic to sneeze at. Being an instate early action student is like a double whammy and will certainly boost your app, not to mention all the great programs you’re automatically considered for.
@nuhsgrad
It’s closer to 90%, I believe.
Thanks, ive really tried to take the hardest classes without overwhelming myself.
@nuhsgrad my school accounts AP and Honors as up to a 5.
