Chance for UPenn and Princeton! :D

<p>Hey guys, I'm a junior this year and of course worrying about college apps in a few months!
I'm looking to major in either actuarial science, applied math, or operations research (math and science majors), and so UPenn is probably my best choice, possibly Princeton too. My mom wants me to go into engineering (-___-), so chance me for MIT too?</p>

SAT II: 800 Math II, 770 World History (will take USH and Physics next month)

<p>Essays: I write pretty well, but I don't have any long-term diseases, am not crippled, and no life-changing experiences. My life is smooth and pretty boring, but I might be able to refer to some extra-curriculars I guess?
Teacher Recs: Decent-above average. They like me I guess but I've already gotten one letter and it was pretty drab :/
Counselor Rec: Above average, she knows me pretty well and can say some things.

Princeton: Very low reach
MIT: Very low reach</p>

<p>The only suggestions I have are to work on your essay and participate in ECs with leadership positions. I’d honestly be surprised if you didn’t get at least get accepted into UPenn. Princeton is kind of a reach for anyone, but I’d say you have a decent shot at getting in.</p>

<p>Also, I’d major in what you want to. Don’t let your parents make that decision for you. In the end you’ll be much happier and enjoy your job more :).</p>
