Hi :). I'm trying for Chicago EA and Princeton, Yale, UPenn, UVA, Columbia, Duke, W&M for RD. I probably don't have a huge shot at any, but Princeton is my dream school haha.
I got to a pretty competitive public magnet that doesn't rank and sends lots of people to HYPSM, other ivies, and ivy equivalents every time.

Oh goodness. Any help/chancing/tips would be awesome! :)

You have a great chance. Just write good essays and get good recs. Prepare well for the interviews if you plan to do any.

I have a question: how long have you worked on your research project?

I started researching at the beginning of this summer and will continue until the end of first semester. But I’m lucky because my mentor has given me a project that is manageable for the period I’m working.

If YOU don’t have a shot at any, then I should just give up and go to a Community College o-o You have great stats!

Seeing as you got these stats while attending the number one high school in the country, I would be surprised if you don’t get into every school that you apply to.

how soon can you get ready for NOVA, cuz that’s the only place you’re going with those stats. Biotech club? Sounds completely unlegit, it’s probably run by you and a bunch of your friends who just decide the officer posts arbitrarily. I hate to break it to you, but TJ isn’t actually a very good school, so don’t get so excited. Enjoy community college!

sat is amazing, gpa good and ap scores excellent! you should have a good shot dispite the flaky admissions at ivies

says the treasurer of biotech
and thanks crimsonuser, amylilygrl and davidoga

You have an amazing chance, just make sure to ace those interviews!

If anything, I’d try to do something more unique in terms of extracurriculars. Perhaps creating your own organization?

You have great chances. Do not retake the SAT II. Your scores are great. You will seem obsessive if you take it again.

^They don’t see if you retake the SAT IIs, but schools only look at two SAT IIs, so don’t bother.

you definitely have a great chance at getting into all of them. nice sat score btw!

Do not even worry. My sister got into Penn with a lower SAT score. :)

Incredibly good chance. Make sure the essay’s good to seal the deal! ;)

bumpitybump
any more details, constructive criticism or advice?
thanks

You’re in…all of them. end of discussion…lol

Yeah… You do have a good chance at most of these schools, but don’t let all of these people unnecessarily inflate your ego. They have no idea what the adcoms will do.

And I don’t think all of them understand that you go to TJ. As a TJer, you will be one of many from your school applying to the tippity-top, and you will be compared to the others from your school. Do you know your approximate rank? Your scores seem amazing to us, but are more commonplace in your school than the people posting realize.

I’m not trying to dishearten you, I just want you to keep rational.

Wait…when does the first semester end at TJ?

If you are going to continue your project till end of semester, then that end of semester better be before october if you plan to submit your project to siemens.

^Actually, coming from TJ could help as well. TJ is a top magnet school that is top ranked in all of the schools in the US. Colleges will see this and say, “Wow, this kid did this well in TJ? He/she must be smart!” On the other hand, what you say also holds some merit. If numerous other students from TJ have similar/better stats, then top colleges like HYPSM might have a hard time choosing which applicants to accept. But leaving all that, the OP still has a solid chance.

It’s not too necessary but retaking the Physics subject test will definitely help you a lot too. But your stats are above above the average applicant to all your schools. I think you’re in Chicago EA - the Ivies can do weird things with admissions and whatnot so who knows…but you have an awesome shot at all your schools good luck
