I just finished 10th grade. Here are my "stats." Please elaborate on my progress for USC (Southern California) and if I seem like a good candidate for their top scholarships. Please be critical! The truth hurts, but "...pain. It demands to be felt." -Augustus Waters

Course Load and Grades:
Grades below are recorded on a termly basis. Slashes indicate a semester or a yearly class consisting of two or four terms respectively. All classes are either weighted greater than normal courses due to the challenge. I take only challenging, college preparatory classes and classes required for graduation. My school does not name some courses "Accelerated" or "Honors" (i.e. Spanish II, Spanish III, Chemistry, Marine Aquatics, Zoology, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Physics, Human Anatomy and Physiology); however, they still yield a higher GPA weight than a normal course.

My Expectations/Goals
These expectations/goals are not to be misconstrued for resume padding. I like the things I do. I will have had a lot of titles before I graduate high school, but I actually try to be proactive. Lazy people is one of my pet peeves. Of course, these are not set in stone.

I do realize some things: I need to improve my ACT, get a great PSAT to be a NMSF or better, continue getting stellar grades, and do some more summer activities. I also realize that my extra curricular do not follow a particular pathway; they're not focused on a certain "passion" that colleges expect me to have according to College Confidential posters. My logic in joining most of the clubs was to explore my interests. I am dropping Art Club and Drama (though I've always yearned to be an actor) my junior year to alleviate junioritis.

A little sidenote: To be honest, I consider myself mediocre compared to other amazing students. I am not being humble; I just don't think I'm super competitive, and I'm okay with that. I'm just gonna have to live with it... just like how Hazel is with Gus' death. Ok, that was a tearjerker!
