<p>I really think you have great shots at all of them, if you’re not in - UVA may seem like a slight reach in some regard, and looking at your GPA it could be something of a problem (they have a really heavy emphasis on GPA), but I’ve known people with 1850s to get into UVA from my school. As for the others, you should definitely be in at those (though whoever made the engineering comment on Tech was astute).</p>
<p>As for William and Mary… it’s a bit like UVA, but I’m not as sure because it isn’t as GPA related, so if you have great essays, you’ve got a really good shot at W&M. And none of this is “your GPA is bad” - I’m just saying, UVA makes a big deal over a C, or more than a couple Bs. And I’m not sure what a 3.8 translates to in those terms.</p>
<p>I’d say you’re in everywhere except UVA and W&M, which are slight reaches, but which are definitely within your capability. This comes from a fellow Virginian.</p>

<p>I’m not to familiar with VA, but by looking at the schools:</p>
<p>The only thing that seems to be going against you is your Math scores and they aren’t really that bad (A 27 on the ACT in math translates to about a 620 on the SAT). </p>
<p>This means that you’ll probably have a very good chance at all four. I would say that they’re all matches for you. JMU is a safety.</p>

<p>Your GPA and class rank are really good. The only thing bringing you down would be your SAT math and SAT II’s. I think a heaving course load would have been good, considering your school offers them. And your volunteering is kind of weak, but it’s good you work year-round. :]</p>

<p>I seriously laughed out loud when you said JMU is a low reach or a high match. Do you even know anything about the school? I have already been accepted so I have valid reason for saying this. I cannot see any justification for JMU being a low reach AT ALL.
I understand that these are just your opinions but seriously, that makes no sense.</p>
