ECs: Orchestra (President and Concertmaster), Founded after-school Chamber Orchestra, Tutor @ Kumon Learning Center, Volunteer @ Neighborhood House Tutoring Center, Fashion/runway model for local clients, Girls State</p>

<p>Definitely strong applicants!</p>

<p>UW Honors looks more than just test grades and GPA though, many 2000+ and 4.0 students have been rejected or waitlisted. Concentrate on your essays. Your teacher recommendation should answer this question: “Why is this student a perfect fit for UW Honors?” <this meaning, don’t have some teacher who barely knows you write a general recommendation. Tell him/her to answer this question. </p>

<p>I also noticed that the Honors program concentrates on interdisciplinary ideas … that is, combining two fields of study and focusing on that (ie. computer science/medicine, english/technology) so you might want to take that into consideration while writing essays.</p>
