<p>Hi guys! Thanks for doing this, I know how annoying they can be.</p>

<p>I'm looking to apply to a Virginia state school (UVA, VTech, GMU, W&M etc.) but out-of-state is fine too. I want to major in Biology, so if you could just give me chances that would be great.</p>

<p>I'm a junior this year and applying for the class of 2015.</p>

<p>First generation to go to college</p>

<p>Race - Latin-American, African-American</p>

<p>GPA - 3.3 Freshman year, 3.6 Sophomore year, 3.7 Junior year (Low in the beginning, but I realized I needed to step up and started doing better)</p>

10th - Honors English II, Honors Spanish III, Honors Chemistry, World History II, Advanced Algebra, French I, Chorus and Art
11th - AP English III, AP Spanish, Physics, AP US History, Honors Pre-Calc, Computer, Comparative Religions and Theater Tech
12th (predicted) - AP English IV, AP Spanish Lit, AP Biology, AP Euro, AP Statistics</p>

<p>I just took my SATs this past weekend and I’m taking the ACTs April 10 so I don’t have those scores yet. Sorry!</p>

<p>I think UVA and W&M are good reaches. They usually won’t look at you unless you have over a 3.8 at the VERY least but maybe if your test scores are good you have a chance. But i’d say you’d def get into GMU and JMU, and Vtech is closest to what your stats show. So i’d keep Tech, UVA, and W&M closest to the vest and work on those the most seriously and then realistically stick with Tech as your number one option. Please chance me back!</p>

<p>It depends. I think it comes down to your SAT/ACT scores, since I think your GPA is a little bit below average for UVA and W&M. Your EC’s look real tight, though, which is good.</p>

VTech - High Match/Low Reach</p>

<p>UVA and W&M are low reaches. Your amazing ECs make up for your lower GPA. Va Tech/GMU are matches and you’re in at JMU.</p>
