Chance for waitlist?

I just checked My Triton page and I got waitlisted
Does anyone know if the chances of getting in by waitlist are good or bad?
And if I get onto the waitlist ASAP does that increase my chances at all?

My stats:
UC gpa: 3.7
SAT single score: 2140
SAT super score: 2240
SAT II math II: 750
SAT II korean with listening: 790
Varsity baseball
Out of school baseball
400 hours community service
Pretty strong essays
Good teacher and counselor rec
California resident
Attend one of the top schools in the state

looking back at last year’s threads, it appears that you can find out your position on the waitlist by calling and asking the UCSD admissions how many points you were off from the admissions threshold- that is how your position on the waitlist is determined.

last year apparently there were ~1200 people waitlisted, and none were offered a spot because there was over enrollment

i was waitlisted too btw

I just joined CC today to see if anyone else is as confused as I am about the waitlist.
Here’s what I know:
~You have to write a 200 word statement and submit it by the 15 of April to be on the waitlist.
~From what I’ve heard, your position on the waitlist can be determined by your application score (It’s something like [GPA x 1000] + [.8 x SAT Score] + [More points for EC’s and Special Circumstances])
~You can find out your exact score by calling admissions at (858) 534-4831 or emailing ppersonalreply@ucsd.edu/email

Anything that you know that I don’t?

hmm I’m wondering if its even worth it to try the waitlist and wait until May…

I’ll definitely try calling/emailing them to find my exact score though

Anyone have any more information?
