Chance for Wharton & Harvard?

<p>I've wanted to go to Wharton since fifth grade, and only recently have I taken an interest in Harvard... how does this look as far as admission?</p>

<p>3.9 GPA unweighted</p>

<p>8 APs, seven 5s, one 4
Two foreign languages: Spanish and Hebrew
All honors classes</p>

<p>2350 SAT (750 M, 800 CR, 800 W)</p>

<p>ECs: Mock Trial, Debate, College Bowl, Science Institute, Math Team, Model Congress, Political Discussion Club, Tennis, School Newspaper (I write the business section), DECA</p>

<p>Community Service: peer tutoring, working with autistic children, and 9th-10th grade summer (Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Clubs, Ronald McDonald House)</p>

<p>Other: I play guitar and piano, have come in semifinals of countywide classical guitar competition, won many awards in debate, entered Intel competition, semifinalist in Siemens competition, won Highest Honors at Long Island Science Congress twice, won gold at Long Island Math Fair once, started my own company which has $20,000 annual revenues, raised $10,000 for Hurricane Sandy relief </p>

<p>Summers: 9-10: (above)
10-11: classes at Yale and 1-month tech internship
11-12: internship trading commodities (mercantile exchange) in NYC</p>

<p>Letters: one from chair of school's math department, one from chair of school's science department, one from CEO of company that I interned at 11th-12th summer (who went to Wharton and donates money there)</p>

<p>It’s always impossible to tell for Harvard, but I’d say you have pretty dang good chances! Grades look good, SAT looks good (but did you take any Subjects?), ECs look excellent, as do honors, and the recommendations look great. If you don’t mind me asking, if you took classes at Yale, why not apply there as well? :O<br>

<p>Make sure you stress your research! You’ve only given it a small place in this chance thread, give it much more importance in your application! Siemens semifinalist is a pretty big deal. </p>

<p>Internship is pretty cool too for someone in high school.</p>

<p>Let me warn you though: Harvard isn’t incredible for engineering (well, it is, but, not as good as MIT in terms of department strength and opportunities). Do apply to places like MIT, Carnegie Mellon, etc. if you want to keep going with tech.</p>
