please let me know my chances for Yale engineering

Just off the bat: You MUST send your SAT score – Yale requires it.

You’re grades aren’t very stellar, but the Siemens Semi-Finalist and other awards are very nice. The same for your sports and community service.

Not sure about %, but those are just my thoughts.

yeah my fault I just copied and pasted without adding SAT for Yale
(2150)

And really? Do you think my grades would be my main problem?
I am first in my class?

Yale Engineering will be looking probably solely at your expertise in the science field. So the NASA Work, INTEL, Science Fair, etc… will look awesome.
However, your SAT scores might not be on par with the other applicants, and that could be a detriment to you.

I would say you look very good for Yale. Your awards are very impressive and your grades are absolutely NO problem. However, your SAT is kinda below par. If something gets you rejected it will be that, but you are waaay more qualified than most other applicants.

I know about the SAT. I had hoped to bring that up. Does it help that my ACT is within the listed range? Also, besides the test scores, all looks good enough?

Even your test scores are fine and yes your ACT will help. In all honesty, I bet if you apply to Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Stanford, MIT, and Caltech you’d get into at least half of them.

Really?
That’s be amazing. Thanks!

idk. good luck. i’m applying scea to yale engineering and my scores are better =PP

deadline in 10 days guyss!

thanks for all responses, anyone else
helps settle nerves =/

My bad, I meant test scores, not grades. But like everyone else said, you have a good shot.

You do NOT need to send your SAT. If you send your ACT, you don’t need to send SAT or SAT II scores. If you don’t believe me, look at the Yale website. Please folks, don’t spread misinformation.

Also, you don’t apply to Yale Engineering. You apply to Yale College.

Admissions Addict is correct. ACT scores can substitute SAT AND SAT II scores.

Ya…but why would you submit the ACT…its a joke

^^that’s why…it’s kind of taking the easy way out and c’mon who doesn’t really want that?

On the off chance that posters are not being sarcastic, OP, please know that Yale does not differentiate between ACT and SAT. You will not have your application devalued if you choose to submit ACT only.

Yeah. The ACT is no joke. OP, I was wondering if you were someone I knew, but I guess not.

Thank you Admissions Addict for factual information.
I sent my ACT of 32 last spring, but just got my OCT SAT score of 2240, so I sent that as well. The college board indicates you must send all of your SAT scores to Yale if you send any, so I hope this doesn’t hurt my chances. I did not score well on my first couple SAT tests. I am considering engineering as well, so hope by 800 math and being a female will help. Anyway, good luck to all of you!!!
GO BULLDOGS!!
