And is there any boost applying to Yale Early as a Legacy vs RD?

Hey Oldspicedude, Yale loves legacies so with your stats( that are very impressive by the way) you should be accepted, make sure to write a killer essay to seal the deal tough. Good luck.

Any chance of being recruited?

You have excellent stats, good extracurriculars and the advantage of legacy, and for that reason I think you have great chances, however do not go into writing your college essays believing that you’ve already been accepted. Rather, really try to write excellent essays as they are what are going to get you into the top schools. Best of luck!

If it’s down to which you’re more likely at, you have a better shot at Penn I’d say. Penn is simply an easier school for admissions than Yale is, and I think Dean Brenzel of Yale said something last year about the absurdly high percentage of legacies they had to turn away.

I dont think recruiting is possible anymore

I wish I had legacy! ahahaa

Your stats put you well in the range. Of course they won’t help you (nobody’s really do, unless they win some kind of national competition or equivalent), but they certainly won’t hurt you. In terms of admission, I think you have a better chance at Penn. If you would rather go to Yale over Penn though, dont apply ED to Penn. However, while applying ED to Penn has an admissions advantage, there is no advantage to applying SCEA to Yale. Write an awesome essay, and try to promote your sports achievements, you didn’t really specify any other major ECs.

You have as good a chance as the rest of us. Good luck to us all!
