Schools I might apply to:

Harvard (legacy)
Stanford (legacy)
MIT
Cal Tech
Harvey Mudd
Johns Hopkins
Rice
Carnegie Mellon
U Texas Austin
U Cal San Diego
(Princeton- probably not)
(Emory- probably not)

SAT 790 math, 770 reading, 750/10 writing (total 1560/2310)
Subject Test Chem 800 Math2 800 Latin 800 Physics 800
AP BC Calc 5, Chem 5, Vergil 5

Top 5-10% academically at a school where 30+% go to HYPSM
Most rigorous schedule in the class, Top classics student at school

No extracurricular leadership positions but 1 varsity sport, play instrument, outdoors activities backpacking/climbing/NOLS/Outward bound, weak community service, weak science/math activities/clubs

Thanks for your input!
(Also would EA at any of the schools above help my chances?)

Early action does not help your chances at any top college.

Your scores look very good. Given your rank in a competitive school, I assume your grades are good but it will still help to know your unweighted GPA.

However, your ECs are very weak given the lack of a leadership position. It is exceedingly rare for an unhooked applicant to get accepted with no leadership position.

You did not post your state or ethnicity/race. If you are comfortable in sharing, I can more accurately chance. But, assuming no hook:

Harvard (legacy) - 15%
Stanford (legacy) - 12% (They weigh ECs more heavily than Harvard most of the time)
MIT - 30%
Cal Tech - 50%
Harvey Mudd - Not familiar enough to quantify, but probably in
Johns Hopkins - 70%
Rice - Not familiar enough to quantify, but probably in
Carnegie Mellon - Not familiar enough to quantify, but probably in
U Texas Austin - In
U Cal San Diego - If you are in-state, in. If not, probably in.

Consider those as highly approximate.

sorry about that, I’m white and live in neither texas nor california
as far as leadership goes, I’m the computer program head at a summer camp (which is a job so I don’t know if that’s leadership) and part of the National Youth Leadership Corps which does community service as a group etc. but there is no real role. Any easy way to gain leadership roles? also my school doesn’t do GPA. thanks

Interesting candidate. You have the academics needed but your E.C.'s are a little lacking. Do you have any awards/honors? Despite this, if 30%+ gets into HYPSM then you should have decent shots at your schools.

I have the biggest latin and greek awards at my school highest honors on national latin exam/ national greek exam and probably national merit semi-finalist and ap scholar (I know both weak)
