rec)
AP Bio teacher : good
AP Chem teacher : really, really good. She LOVES the fact that I'm applying a year early.

Info)
I'm Asian, female
but I live in England and go to an American School here.
Our school isn't that great (one Harvard last year & they were extremely excited about it)
but I didn't have a choice since I'm taking the APs and all.

I wasn't planning on applying to the US, I was just hoping my applications to the UK schools would do, but then people around me have changed my mind : ( Hence the lack of ECs. I only did ones that I actually had an interest in....

So, naturally, I only know the Ivies and stuff and don't really know that many american schools.

Help me make a realistic/objective list? please?
(major: Biology)

I WILL TRY AND CHANCE BACK :)

bump &
I am a junior but I am applying to college this year… or at least I’m planning on doing it

Well I mean I dont think your ECs are all that bad
Personally I think they are fine, but maybe not as astounding as some of the ivies would want.
The fact is your SATs are amazing, the fact that you take AP is great (and your courses look rigorous) and your background is cool
I also love how you are applying a year early! Thatll make you stand out so well… But im not too sure what colleges think of that :stuck_out_tongue: (ull havta research that…)

Personally, solely based on academics and what you have so far, I think you have a realistic chance at great schools like JHU, Northwestern, Chicago, etc…
As for the ivies, and MIT, Caltech kinda schools, you need some more outstanding ECs.
If you end up not applying this year, you should definitely consider taking some intense thing over your summer before your senior year :3

GL!

My sister (who goes to Cornell! and yet she’s supposed to be ‘stupid but beautiful’ one in our house!) asked the admissions officer there and they said the fact that I’m applying early won’t really affect my chances unless I write a really bad essay that makes it seem like applying early is rushed for me

I knew the ECs would be my downfall in US schools :(

any more suggestions? :(
