Chance Help!!

I am currently a high school junior (white female), and i dream of going to Duke!

**Please take a look at my credentials and tell me what else I need to be considered! I MAY decide to apply ED when the time comes next fall… how would that affect my chances given the following??

My current SAT score is a 2040 (CR-620, M-650, W-770 10 on essay) I am retaking the SAT this month and hope to score a 2150+

PLEASE READ: I am 100% aware of my SAT score not being up to par with competitive duke applicants, HOWEVER I am registered for the test on Jan 23 and I am confident I can raise my score to at least a 2150, possibly higher. I am working very hard with a private tutor. This post is in ANTICIPATION of a higher score, as I know I have realistically no chance with a 2040.

Besides testing here is a brief overview of my credentials:
4.0 Unweighted GPA
I took a college course over the summer at FIT in NY
Crew Team
Marching Band- Flute
Concert Band
Key Club
Interact Club
Relay For Life captain one year
National Math Honor Society
National Science Honor Society
National English Honor Society
National History Honor Society
Science Research Competition
National History Day- 3 year participant
Math Tutor
AP Courses

Perform as well as you possibly can on the SAT. Don’t settle for 2150. Everything else seems to be in order. You are a qualified applicant but no one can say much with certainty until you receive your SAT score.

^ I have to respectfully disagree with @NerdyChica about “Everything else seems to be in order”. @shannon14, I would say that your chances of acceptance to Duke or similar caliber schools is extremely remote based on the OP.

Duke is looking for passionate, motivated students who stand out. There’s nothing in the OP that stands out, and no SAT score will overcome that. I just don’t see anything that stands out from the crowd at all - just a gemisch of amorphous activities. It’s pretty late to find a focus/passion if you don’t already have one, and colleges generally can tell when something is manufactured.

What are your driving interests? What’s important to you? What makes you different? I don’t see any of that, but if it’s there, please show us. Otherwise I frankly don’t see much chance.
