Chance If You Please!!!

Hey! I will deeply appreciate any "chances" for me. For CC, I have edited some of information that is too specific and revealing -- asterisks represent omitted information.
I am most worried concerning 4 issues:
1. I have not taken any honors/AP math courses - this worries me the most!!!
2. I have not served in many leadership positions
3. I have a HORRIBLE Math I SAT score; I have retaken it and will learn of my new score on Christmas day!
4. AP scores are weak

Thanks so much!
GPA W: 3.98/4.00 and 94.9/100.0; my school does not report our UW GPA's to us.
Decile: 1 (school does not rank otherwise)

Sorry for any redundancy within the above.
Again, thanks!

Could anybody help me?

This seems a little farfetched...

especially if you are applying to any kind of math program. They'll see your problem solving skills as lame. At such a competitive school they'll easily throw out your application for having any flaw.

Cross your fingers and good luck...

you'll need it.

I'm intend to major in classics (Latin, etc.). Wow I thought that I was a little better off than that...but thanks for the honest input. What do you mean by "far-fetched?" Do you have any ideas concerning how I can improve my chances, if even possible?
Anyone else have any other opinions?

I forgot to mention - my cousin attended Duke and apparently did very well there. I do not know if this affiliation will help me.

BTW: decile 1 = top 10% or better

I think you have a fairly good chance. Your standardized test scores look very good. Your GPA on the 4.0 scale looks great but why is it so much lower on the 100 pt scale? Your class rank is at a good place (top 10%). As for your classes, I think it really depends on what high school you are coming from. Some schools don't offer as many hard courses as others. As long as you took a hard curriculum (based on your school's standards), then you'll have a good shot. Your EC's look really excellent. That's something you should be proud of. I was accepted through ED earlier this month and I really think that one of my hobbies (web design) helped me to stand out. It's quite a unique skill. Duke seeks students who are not only academically gifted but talented in many different ways. I think you should consider sending them an art supplement, perhaps a video tape of one of your performances. This could help them get to know you on a more personal level. Also, an interview would be very nice if you are strongly interested in Duke. Also, make sure your essays are excellent. Good luck!

looks good but then again you can never really tell, I had a friend last year with very similar stats who wasn't accepted but I also knew a girl with a lower math score that got in...
