Just asking about UT primarily, i did ed jhu and ive applied to other texas unis(got into utd/a&m alr) and out of states but I’d pick UT over nearly all of them tbh

Note:
I had solid academics until the start of jr year, (4.0 top 6%) but due to a mix of covid-19 burnout, the sudden death of one of my closest cousins, and poor performance impacted by that, my stats took a huge decline and i went from straight a’s to a couple of b’s in only ap courses. Although nothing is an excuse for my own poor performance, i did end up mentioning the extenuating circumstances that affected me regardless of whether they help or not through the UT Covid essay.

Without being top 6% UT is a huge reach for me no matter what, since from what I’ve read the acceptance rate is extremely low. My district is very competitive, so I do know peers who have gotten in without auto-admit. I feel like my extracurriculars are fairly decent, but i don’t know if its enough to negate not having auto-admit. I also applied dean’s scholars for fun since a lot of my app is research-focused but no way a non-auto gets into honors lol.

i dont understand why the transfer tag is there im trying to do undergraduate admissions

I removed the transfer tag for you.

PISD senior? It’s so competitive at PWSH, isn’t it? My kid is in top 10% there too and we decided not to apply to UT due to the competition. She has a higher SAT score but your EC/research is very impressive. UT’s admission policy doesn’t make much sense and hope you get in. I heard the worst case is they will send you to another campus for one year and move to Austin from Y2. Good luck.
