Chance Instate Average Student For Rutgers NB?

Very briefly... This will take a minute to read, so if you've got the time it'd be way appreciated! Could make a huge difference!

I'm in state for Rutgers.

I don't have the worst resume in the world, but it's nothing spectacular. I'm your classic case of a bright kid who's just not good at high school. Hard for me to perform well in subjects I hate.

I'm now a senior at a rigorous Yeshiva high school with a dual curriculum - both Hebrew and English subjects. For the last 4 years I have been in the highest Hebrew tracks. I got mostly 80s, some 90s, the occasional 70s.

I took several AP courses in my Junior Year: U.S. History, English Language, Art History. My results were: 5, 5, 4. I got 90s in the first two classes, low 80s in the third.

My average GPA is an 83. My school doesn't weight so that's not factoring in my honors and AP courses.

My SAT score is a 1900. 520 math, 650 CR, 730 writing.

My SAT 2 scores are 720 in u.s. history and 670 in literature.

My extracurriculars include: school play for 2 years. Writing articles for various school literary publications: essays and poetry.

I don't have community service.

Outside of school, I maintain a personal blog, I've won various poetry awards, I play several instruments, I'm very politically active and write political articles on my blog regularly.

My essays are fantastic. I'm a great writer, plus my parents are divorced and a lot of other crap so I've got some "tough experiences" that I overcame. Good to write about for obvious reasons.

My recommendations will also be fantastic though I don't have them yet. They'll say something along the lines of me being very intellectually curious and genuinely interested in learning.

I'm terrible at math, so my math and science grades have hovered around low 70s.

Well, suppose that's it. Please help me out as I'm seriously considering Rutgers and unsure if I'll be accepted. Thanks!

You should roughly have a 75% chance of getting in (a pretty good chance of getting in). My brother had similar SATs (a 1900) and extracurriculars and took only one AP his junior year (AP US History) and still got into the Arts & Sciences and Engineering schools.

P.S. You don’t need teacher recommendations for Rutgers, nor are they recommended. Only an essay is required, which seems easy for you to write.
