I am applying to the following colleges:

Colgate University (ED)

Georgetown University (dream unviersity)

Columbia University (dream univeristy)

Trinity College

Connecticut College

Roanoke College

St. Lawrence University

Skidmore College

Hampshire College

Chance me please! I'll chance back

I’d say to bring up your SAT score for your dream schools. I’m sorry, I don’t know the other universities well enough to offer an opinion on those.

chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1368297-please-help-chance-me-my-dream-colleges.html</a></p>

You would need much higher SATs for some of those colleges than your projected score, so Georgetown, Columbia, St. Lawrence and Trinity are reaches. Also, is English your native language? If it isn’t you need to take the TOFEL or Cambridge English Proficiency exam (TOFEL is more accepted in the US). Finally, can you/your family pay the international student tuition rate, I don’t believe any of these schools are need-blind to internationals.

no matter how impressive your ECs are, the GPA and SAT need to be improved. Get some SAT books and crack down this summer. That would give you a lot better edge when applying.

chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1367233-chance-top-20-schools.html</a></p>

I have to take the toefl, and I am already trying to bring up my SAT scores, I’m also doing IB. What do you think my chances are for Colgate if applying ED?? and I do need financial aid, I bought a book from College Board which said that Colgate as well as trinity and Connecticut had great international financial aid!!

You’ll have to bring up your scores to at least 2000 to get a fighting shot, but your ECs are pretty cool. Which is always a very important thing.

what universities would be a match???

bump bump bump! help me please!

I think you have a good chance at St. Lawrence and Skidmore but unfortunately your GPA is probably not going to be high enough for Columbia or maybe even Georgetown…but if you get your SATS up into the 2000’s then you still may have a shot

I am an international student from Vietnam thinking of financial aid as the only way to get to Trinity.
My sister has just graduated from Trinity and I am deeply in love with this beautiful college according to what my sister told me about the Faculty.
My stats:

  1. TOEFL ibt : 115/120
  2. SAT I : CR 690, Maths 710, Writing 660. Total: 2060.
  3. GPA: 3.8 (weighted)
  4. Activity: Class president ( 12 years )
  5. Honors: third prize in English competition in 2009 and 2011, second prize in 2012, highest GPA among peers.
  6. 3 recommendation letters, 1 essay.
Assuming that the recommendation letters are strong enough, my essay is (hopefully) a touching one, what chances would I have at this magnificent college?
    Best regards,
    Dam.

Please dont use someone else’s thread to ask about your chances. That being said, you look fine.

I’m really really sorry about that!
Thank you for your encouragement!

Your SATs need to be 2200+

raise your SAT high as possible and than I think you should get at least 1 or 2 universities that you mentioned.
