I’ve written a good common app essay that’s been approved by many people. I have two decent recommendations. I have yet to write the Brandeis (optional) supplement.

you’ve certainly got the stats to get in ED 2, RD or whichever other way there is to get in. i believe it is difficult to get good aid for international students although there are some scholarships primarily for them. check out Brandeis’s website on these scholarships.

Thanks! I’ll probably try to aim for the Wien scholarship for internationals. Anymore chances? Will chance back!

So I was rejected. Any comments?

Personally I’m very surprised that you got rejected as you definitely have the stats for Brandeis. I suppose it has to do with needing aid, which is scary as I need it too :(. Good luck with whatever happens!

I thought the ED II result won’t come out until Feb 15 :-s How could you know you are rejected ?

^Actually, ED II notification date is Feb 1. Btw, were you able to get in? I see that you applied ED I.

They deferred me :expressionless: But if you are rejected, then I can say that I will got my rejection soon :expressionless: Can’t believe they rejected you !!! My stats is way less impressive than yours. >"<

Damn, I think I have no chance. I am applying RD and my stats really sucks in comparison with yours. Sorry for you. I hope that’s because you are asian.

I’m not surprised you were rejected at all. It has nothing to do with stats. It has to do with your ability to pay. International aid is minimal at best, and with ~1000 applicants fighting for four full-pay Wien Scholarships, you had better be tops in your class and have perfect test scores.

wow, that really sucks. there’s no doubt in my mind your statistics are well within, if not than over, brandeis expectations. they’re way better than mine, anyway, and I was waitlisted. you deserve to go to brandeis way more than I do, though.

no need for perfect scores! I got chosen as a wien scholars and my scores are not perfect at all. good GPA, good TOEFL, but thats about it.

I’m really sorry to hear that. You are definitely a bright person and would certainly succeed at brandeis. I have about the same stats and was accepted so it’s most likely because of your financial need, which is really unfortunate to say, but international students are not need blind, so if you needed more then they had to give that was probably the problem. It’s a really tough process in that sense and I’m really sorry to hear it wasn’t a positive outcome. Keep your head up, you’ve got amazing potential. Good luck with your other applications.
