why are you repeating junior year?

I am an international student and I moved school so I was required to repeat one year to fulfill repeat graduation requirement.

What do you think is my chance of getting in with Financial aid ?

All financial aid is need-based not merit-based. So if you can estimate family income or anything…that would be helpful in calculating aid. Though right now, you should focus on just getting in.

So what do you think my chance of getting in for now ?

Bowdoin looks at the overall student, not just test scores, which is a great thing about the college. There aren’t any specific angles with Bowdoin, although they do have a very strong tie with community service and the “Common Good”. Just participate in what you are passionate about, and that passion will show through in your application. You shouldn’t change who you are as a student to get into a specific college. A specific college should choose you based on who you already are as a student. You wouldn’t be happy anywhere else.

But, in my opinion, you seem to have a very strong application. Keep up the good work, and keep your fingers crossed :)

I don’t know if it’s because you had to switch schools, but, in general, it looks bad when you only do a club for one year. Schools generally like to see sustained interest.

It was indeed due to switching schools.

@TaylorAnn11: That’s what I like about Bowdoin. They like well rounded students.

Thanks. Any more comments about my chance ??

any more comments, suggestions ???

can you guys give me some more suggestions ?

Can someone please leave me some comments and suggestions ??

Any more suggestion ??

I will likely end up this school year with a B in AP Calc BC and B in AP PHysics C: Mech. Will it kill my chance of getting into Bowdoin ??

What grading system is your HS on?

Is it B- B B+ or B B+ or B- B ?

It is B- B B+

Then, what do you think ?

Also, I just got semi-finalist of Cornell essay contest. I don’t know if this will help much

Eh. Those grades don’t help your chances, but Bowdoin looks at the big picture, so who knows.

I know it might be a dumb question but…With 2 Bs, my chance is pretty much slim ?? Will it be different if I get like B+ ?

Idk. I got in with a B+ here and there (my school is B B+). I got one for a semester class last year and one for a year class sophomore year.

Obvs try for the B+, but don’t give up if things don’t go your way.

so personally, looking at my profile like now (comparing to an admitted student like you). What do you think about my chance of getting in ?

any more suggestions ?

As the summer and time to start application approaching, any more suggestion, chance for me ??
