COLLEGES:

CORNELL
UCHICAGO (1st choice)
OHIO STATE
TEXAS A&M
GEORGE WASHINGTON
PURDUE
UCSB

PLEASE tell me colleges that would match my profile/my chances of the above mentioned
And please dont say "Cornell is an Ivy - Ivies are reaches for everyone" because cornell is much easier to get into compared to the other ivies. Ive thought about colleges alot I just need other peoples opinions (and advice/recommendation for other colleges)

Thanks alot

Cornell and UChicago are reach.
Purdue is a match to high match depending on your GPA scale.

@bill,
I have like a 3.8 or something? I dont know the conversion but im top 10% of my class
Also, which has higher chances: UChicago or Cornell? Not going by their standard acceptance rates. Im applying to the school of arts and sciences for them if it makes a difference

Chicago has an 8.8% acceptance rate, Cornell’s is 15.3%. Both have exceptional candidates that they reject every year…just some stuff to keep in mind.

Cornell is an “easier Ivy” to get into but with that being said, it’s still VERY DIFFICULT. Your SAT score is pretty low for Cornell and UChicago. Are you getting recruited or anything for basketball? That might help. Just don’t be too overconfident about these two schools (which it seems like you are from your post). You have a good chance at the other schools you are applying to.

Cornell is relatively easier as they accept many more students.

A 15% acceptance rate is still quite difficult…especially with stats that are good but not exceptional.

I’d I think Cornell and U Chicago are reaches and the rest are probably matches. Your SATs are a little on the lower side for Cornell and Chicago, but scoring as well as you are predicting on the math sat2 will definitely help you out.
