ESSAY:

standard
Ex:I read 'Barton zwieback : Introduction to string theory' which is a graduate level text
book , I understood very little but I stuck on it and read till the last page
Ex:Read and understood all those popular books on general relativity ,quantum mechanics
,string theory,
I sacrificed my full life studying only physics (loop quantum gravity, gauge field theory)

RECOMMENDATION:
I have argued with my teachers a lot of time on the lame methods they use when solving physics problem so I am not very popular among teachers

Average Recommendation from 2 school teacher
Very Good Recommendation from UCLA graduate

RESEARCH :(completing soon)
1)Written my theories on Black Hole event horizon
2)Big Bang Chaotic inflation

THE END

1)Do you think I have a chance at Yale , Harvard , MIT , Princeton , Amherst college , Dartmouth ?
2)Do i have a chance with my poor financial condition? Will my 100% need be met?
3)Even without submitting a research paper , Do i have a chance with 100% need met?

First of all don’t waste your time posting here, rather apply for MIT now
(:stuck_out_tongue: 2012).

MIT is need-blind, so don’t worry your finaid app won’t affect your admission decision.

Are you really doing research while in Indian high school ? :D

Please help me out guys…

Help you with what ?

your academic profile and passion for physics matches with those gain admission to said schools. King is right. no one can give you any opinion that’s real or even matters. only way to find out is by applying.

apply, and say Hey Ram! and wait til the results come out.

Remember, students better than you have been rejected, and worse admitted.

Help me out with predicting my chances…I dropped NIT and IIT to try for this

^^^ FOR GODS SAKE DON’T DROP IIT IF YOU CAN GO THERE , FORGET ABOUT MIT AND CONSIDER IIT .
Come on , we have an old saying that says : One bird in your hand is better than ten on a tree .

NO…no … actually I only wanna do physics…got AIR around 5500 in JEE , would get some metallurgy course in new IIT , which I am not planning to pursue . . . .I am in NIT surat right now but gonna drop soon…

Yeswanth, Ok you are sure to get in at MIT.

now, does that make you happy. people here know no better. even the ones that do (MIT Chris), can’t do a diddly squat about your getting in. so stop fretting. send in your application and wait like everyone else.

by the way when you get air 5500, what do YOU think your chances at mit?

^ Send an art portfolio with the application to MIT.

You cannot apply as freshman!
I’m in IIT right now, if I had a chance I would have applied as freshman as well but its not possible. You have to apply as international transfer.

Does it really helps ? I mean average stuff also ?

MIT encourages applicants with strengths in the arts to send samples of their work, as explained on the MIT website. “Average stuff” will not help the application – but the OP’s resume suggests he or she is not average in this area.

OP ?
Please Explain :)

OP=original poster, the individual who began this thread.

@itme123 : Ya , I got your point , , Lets wait and see

@calAlum : How am i suppose to send art portfolio ?If i am good at piano , then how would i send it , in CD??
For my drawings too , how should i send it??

KingsXI:you can apply as freshman once you dont study in any college , and i am gonna quit over here
Btw your application looks very strong except your EC…

You can only apply as a freshman if you’ve never been a student in a college degree program. So if you are currently in college, you must apply as a transfer, even if you plan to drop out of your current school.

Everything you need to know is on the MIT website: [Portfolios & Additional Material | MIT Admissions](Creative portfolios | MIT Admissions)

Not having splendid EC’s (Non-Academic) is infact the problem of every other Indian student.

This was what I was telling you. You CANNOT apply as freshman while having enrolled in some college, even if its Daruwala college
And if you fake the fact that you never have been in college after you left high school, then also you have to make up a great story as to why you took this gap, which is very risky & very tough to cover up until & unless you were preparing some cure for cancer or some parallel universe time-machine theory or may be preparing NASA’s next mission budget

These were the stats for Fall 2011 Transfers:
<a href=“MIT Institutional Research”>MIT Institutional Research;

@molliebatmit ,CalAlum , KingsXI
: Oh…I got your point…
I got admitted to NIT ,surat , within 2 weeks I quit my college , got back all my original documents , and i have not even written even one exam there , stayed just for 2 weeks , attend class for 5 days ,

Now,its like i never joined college right , i am free , so why would I apply as a transfer when I am not even associated with that institute

Btw they ask for college transcript right??i cant give them… SO how is it now??

^

v/s

Well, it’s clear that you would apply as freshman anyway :)

Good Luck !
And BTW, do you know AshishKumar ?

( To the MITReps, can I apply as freshman as well :stuck_out_tongue: )
