Chance me? 3+3 Pharmacy Program?

Ok so I’m an African American High School student who’s a Junior in High School and I want to apply to the 3+3 accelerated Pharmacy program at Northeastern University. So far this is what I’ve got:
GPA: Weighted 4.6/ Unweighted 3.9(got a B in Programming 2 as a freshman)
Rank: (I’m one of the top 3, it’s iffy because i’m not a senior yet, but i’m either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd)
SAT Biology Subject Test : 750
PSAT: 202
ACT: 31
Mock Trial: 3 years
Interact Club: 3 years
Helping Hands: 2 years
National Honor Society: 3 years
Volunteer at local Hospital
Reading for the visually impaired
I was head of a community newsletter for a little but it may not be too important
Wrestling: 1 year
AP Classes I’ve taken:
AP European History: 4
AP Computer Science: didn’t take AP test
AP Classes i’m taking:
AP Calculus AB
AP US History
AP Human Geography
AP Language and Composition
AP Art History
AP Physics 1

P.S. Will the fact that i’m African American help me out with my chances of getting in at all?

You’ll most likely get in. Relax!

African American may help a bit, but I wouldn’t count on it.

You look good! I have to second @husky546
Sure, there’s a chance you wont get in. It’s not easy, but try to relax - it will help. I always wrote the best essays to the schools to which I didn’t care about being admitted.

By the way, loved me some European History. That class was the best. Did you know that the Glorious/Bloodless Revolution wasn’t entirely bloodless? James had his army ready to fight, but then got a bloody nose. He decided that it was a sign from god that he was going to lose, so he booked it. I call it the Divine Epistaxis.

Good luck!

What do you guys think my chances would be if I applied to BS/MD program at NEOMED or Howard or Drexel for example? @julianstanley @huskey546

I don’t know anything about Neomed, Howard, or Drexel, but I have read a little about BS/MD programs, so I can comment on those -

From your post, I can bet that you can find an BS/MD program that will take you.
With that said, think about why you would want a combined program in the first place.

I was talking to someone who just finished an MD/PhD program and, although it’s different, he said that people beginning the program (7-9 years) very rarely made a well-thought out decision simply because it is very hard to think that far forward - a lot changes in 4 years - and the people he was referring to had already been through 4 years of college and established much of their interests.

Also, most articles I have read strongly suggest not just doing BS/MD so that you don’t have to apply to med school/take the mcat. They say that if you can’t do well on the MCAT and cant do med school applications, medical school is probably the wrong path.

Anyways, that was a long post. Hope it helps

Yeah that’s a good point but I have been interested in the human body since I was a kid. Also, seeing a positive impact on people as a result of my own actions is extremely fulfilling to me, so combine the two interests and you get medicine haha @julianstanley
