Chance me ;_; I only applied to UCSD/UCBerk..

I'm so scared now.. I heard my friend with perfect stats (2380, 3.97 UW GPA..) applied to UC Berk, UCLA, UCSD, UC Davis, and even UC Irvine because he was scared that he would not get into any of them!!!!

I was confident I would get into at least UCSD or UC Berk, but now I'm not so sure anymore.. I'm pretty confident about my stats for UCSD, but still..

Can anyone chance me? Does anyone know what GPAs / SAT stats look like for UCSD students?! Please help!!

^Was your friend just kidding around with you?

So apply to a few more UCs and rest easy.

your stats will get you in

Your stats are definitely strong enough for UCSD; I’m not positive about Berkeley, but if it’s not a 95% then it’s at least a strong chance.

If you are an ELC qualifier (assuming you are in-state and top 4%) why would you not check off a box and pay $60 to one more school? I think your chances are excellent at both schools on your list…

I’m an in-state applicant :o
But on the UC Application site, it says additional UCs cannot be added anymore…

That means I’ll have to stick to UCSD/UCBerk right…? Damn it… I should have applied to more schools…

Yes you would be in the stack of qualified applicants for Berk or La but there are only so many slots. It’s anyone’s guess if you’ll be chosen from that stack of equally qualified top applicants. Also UC admissions have been wavering all over the place over the past 5 years. the number of acceptance letters from these schools has been generallt decreasing over the past few years- so don’t stress too much about what friends say.

And there are a billion asians with similar first gen family hardship stories so being Korean isn’t much of a shoe in.

So QUICK APPLY TO A FEW MORE-- it’s only a few boxes to check.

This is the list I give to cali kids to apply to as backups etc:
UCSD, Irvine, Davis, SB, Cal Poly SLO, SDSU ---------- All credible, clean, decent schools and you can always try for a transfer after your first year!

You’ll be okay. Your credentials are solid and I would be surprised if you were rejected-- even at UCB. You should be a shoo-in at UCSD. The “guaranteed admission” deadline for ELC applicants at UCD, UCSB, UCI, UCR, and UCM has passed. Use the link listed below if you want to see stats profiles at the various UC’s:

[University of California: StatFinder](http://statfinder.ucop.edu/)

Here’s my thought: You’re better off having only listed UCB/UCSD as your choices; even though these schools have “independent” admissions reviews, don’t kid yourself thinking they don’t know how many UCs you’ve applied to. The fact is, if you list 6 UC campuses you’re “willing” to attend, guess what, they will accomodate you at one of the second tier schools. You have forced these guys to consider you for the top schools. Good luck.

^Ok seriously, that’s not true. Stop.

@SunDiego

Yup, not true at all.

on-topic: You’ll get accepted by UCSD. I would relax. If you’re really scared, only thing left to do is apply to privates.

Wait wait. Somebody said I could check off more UCs? I’m at the application site, and this is what I get…

“Notice. All campuses are closed.
You can no longer select additional campuses.”

:( This means I’m stuck with SD/Berk now huh.

^^^^^^^Yes.

Yep. You’re stuck. But, I agree that you will probably get in to UCSD. Are those the only schools you applied to?
