I’m a senior at a highly ranked public high school in CT interested in business.
Stats:
GPA (unweighted): 3.46
Freshman year: 3.33
Sophomore year: 3.35
Junior year: 3.80
SAT Breakdown: CR: 670 Math: 660 Writing: 660
My school doesn’t rank and I looked at the profile that my school sends out today. I’m very fringe top 40% and since its not a concrete number I can’t really tell if I’m in or out. Would I qualify for the National Buckeye Scholarship?
@kskskskskldpe Your gpa appears a bit low/borderline, but your SAT score is very good and equates to about a 30 ACT score, which is well within the 27 to 31 middle 50% range of accepted applicants. Since your school does not rank, and given your SAT score of 1330 (cr and math) (assuming it was in one test sitting, not super-scored), i think if you do get accepted you would receive the national buckeye ($11,400) if you apply by the Early Action deadline of November 1. Make sure everything is received by Ohio State admissions by the Nov 1 deadline. This includes your SAT score report, your school report (school profile, transcript, guidance counselor rec), your teacher letter of recommendation, and your common application. You may even qualify for the additional trustee scholarship ($1900). Checkout “money matters” on the ohio state university website, where the scholarship criteria and information is described. By the way, Ohio State reduced all OOS scholarships by 5% for Fall 2016 entering class.
@trackmbe3 thanks. Financial aid is something important to my family and me and your response was very helpful
I’m a current OOS OSU sophomore who had practically identical stats to you. You will basically get the acceptance and the national buckeye scholarship As long as you are top 40%. They’re very strict with numbers, so you won’t get any other merit scholarships because they’re all class rank based
