I am extremely interested in CIT and so if you guys could chance me and give me advice that would be wonderful! Remember that I am just a high school junior right now!

You know, my advice is just do what you feel is right for you. Do not go around doing certain things because you think that is what colleges are looking for. Also, do not go worrying about grades, focus on actually learning the material and understanding it. What I mean by understanding is not memorizing the equations, but see the implications they have and start asking questions to yourself. Obviously, just the fact that you asked this questions tells me three things: that you are willing to do things that you would not normally do to get into college, that you subconsciously want to feel secure with your chances at getting into school and that you are delusional little girl. Also, the fact that you supposedly go to a competitive HS means that your parents care; don’t let the college game get in your head. Learn to embrace learning and not just the grade you get.

Really, I am pushing this as a fellow student and FIRST member. Do not worry about honors and titles.

That was not the kind of advice I was looking for. If I was looking for a philosophy lesson on how I should view life and school right now or whatever you were trying to say then I wouldn’t have made a post here. I appreciate you taking the time to write the reply but I am more interested in knowing if I am on the right track or not to get into CIT. I want to know things like “What should I work on?”, “What are my chances right now?”, things along those lines. However, once again, I thank you for your response as I see the generosity behind your words.

Here is my advice: Apply for CMU’s pre-college summer program. There will be a bunch of options of what you can take; I suggest you take AP/EA and take courses similar to those you will want to major in at CIT. Do well in those courses, and try to get internal professor recommendations. That will greatly improve your chances.
