Hi guys, I come bearing yet another thread for chances. How fun. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I really hate my crappy extracurriculars :'c Sometimes I don't know if some of the schools I'm after are worth the time and effort of applying. Either way, I'd love to be chanced for the following schools:

-UC Los Angeles
-UC Berkeley
-Boston University
-Brown University
-University of Southern California

***I'm going to major in English for all of them and possibly minor in French!

You have a very high chance for most of the schools you’ve listed. Great SATs, GPA, and also being in-state really helps when applying for Cali schools.

UCLA: Match
UCB: High Match
USC: Match
BU: Safety
Brown: I think theres only reach or high reach for ivies. In this case, i’d say it’s a reach.

Hate to jump on the bandwagon, but I think you have great chances everywhere except Brown and UChicago, where in my opinion in boils down to how you handled your essays. I’m sure you didn’t screw yours up as badly as I did mine, though, so I think you still have a solid chance there. But everywhere else, especially UCs which are still largely numbers based, your looking great!

Hold up, you’ve written a novel? That’s awesome. And definitely going to help you especially since you’re stats are up there and your ECs are consistent. By the way, these reaches just have to be reaches for everybody:

UC Los Angeles: match
UC Berkeley: low reach
Boston University: safety
Brown University: reach
University of Southern California: match
UChicago: reach
Cornell: low reach

Brown and Cornell are the easiest of the Ivies to get into (nothing against them- they’re still hard to get into, just not as hard as any of the others), and although they’re very selective, UChicago is actually more selective.

Copy and paste list:
Brown - Low reach
Cornell - Low reach
Harvard - Reach
UCLA - High match
USC - Match
UC Berkeley - Low reach/high match
BU - Safety
UChicago - Reach

All of the schools I rated as reach are reaches for everyone, but you have a good shot!
