Dual Citizenship, female in science research world?

WEAKNESSES:
No connections, subject test scores

**Side note: I have heard that having contacts with a coach really helps in the application process, specifically at Amherst. I would love to continue playing field hockey in college regardless of where I go. Is it too late to make a connection with the coach? Amherst College is an amazing school and I would be so lucky to go. I am trying to do anything I can to enhance my application.

Being recruited for a sport is a big hook, so if that’s possible, reach out to the coach.

Beyond that all anyone can say is that your grades and scores and ECs are in range.

You are too late for field hockey if you are a senior. All the support goes to ED1 or rarely, ED2. You can try out walk-on, but coach can’t help you get in at this point. Nothing wrong in reaching out, but all I"d expect is a “great, contact us if you get in!”.
If you are from the NE, there’s nothing wrong with you, and you are in range, but it’s a crap shoot. Hopefully you are from Montana, or maybe the Aleutian islands…
I don’t think your hooks are very good…Middlebury might value your languages more?
Anyway, I give you less than 50%. Good luck!
