Amherst college seems like a good choice. Your academics seem very up there and like they will carry you. ECs are a little bit of a concern, but you have a pretty good list going, especially since a lot of them are leadership positions. Amherst is ridiculously small. So make sure you REALLY want to go there before applying ED. Personally, I did not like the small size seeing as the entire student population at Amherst was about half of my high school population. Amherst takes a wholistic review and makes use of the voting system with their admissions counselors. So I would try to make your essays really good so they can get a better idea of who you are. This can make up for your limited ECs. As far as legacies go, Amherst doesn’t seem to big on them as they are just so small. Good luck!!
