Hella good chance at all of those schools. Sigh you make me (I’m also Korean and I live in NorCal) look like a failure to all Koreans in terms of academia!

1.5 Gen ftw haha.

On paper you do have the ability to be accepted anywhere.

But don’t let your statistics blind you. Don’t be arrogant enough to assume that you’ll be accepted by the Ivies. Always remember that they are tons of people like you.

Every year many applicants with statistics and extracurriculars just like yours, but with mediocre essays and recs, are shocked by their rejections from colleges they were sure they’d get into.

P.S. Taking into account this sobering advice, I also encourage you to apply to Harvard.

thanks everyone for the great advice!
@mustbesuccessful
im afraid i dont have many places to win awards except perhaps research projects.

@tompkins
to be completely honest im doing golf even though it will be in my second semester of senior year because i want to play and participate in a team environment, not because it will necessarily help my application. thanks for the input though.

please include your thread if youd like to me to chance you back
im certain ill have highly competitive recs and essays with the amount of help ill be getting in completing those
thanks everyone

Ivy League schools + Stanford + PLME will likely be very difficult to get in.

There are TONS of people who apply to Ivy Leagues with resumes like yours. High test scores & GPA, grocery list ECs. In other words (now keep in mind, this is only according to what you wrote), there isn’t much that makes you stand out big time compared to those tons who apply every year.

How many of those tons of people get accepted? Few to none.

Columbia is more of mid-Ivy, btw. Too strong to be considered “low” by any means.

@geekorathletic
thanks for your input
how can i improve my resume?
by ‘low ivies’ i meant non HYP; i wasnt trying to diminish the differences offered by the different ivy schools.

thanks princetongirl93
bumpbump

You definitely have the low ivies with all those EC’s and nearly perfect GPA. Don’t worry with all that going for you you will get in to one of those schools

nice! thanks locust1990
any improvements i can make? especially in terms of ecs

You are looking really good the EC’s are amazing I have never seen someone with that many hours! And if you are worried about sports, try going to a golf or band camp for the summer. Chance me please mine is called Chances of Top 30 and Ivys

you look great. i say you have better chances at JHU and Northwestern. the others count on luck, but it’s the same for all qualified applicants. you just never know.

make sure you show the colleges that you have a passion/passions for something. there are tons of applicants like you so you have to make yourself stand out. good luck!!

thanks mediopollito
will my volunteering/shadowing/science research be enough to show my ‘passion’?

You look extremely qualified. Great scores and really dedicated to pharmaceuticals. I think you have a great shot at any school you apply to. Just work really hard on making the essays convey you as a person and your passions and you’ll be fine.

Chance me?: [How’s this junior looking?](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/903638-hows-junior-looking-mit-upenn-cmu.html)

I think you have an excellent chance (60-85%?) at the lower Ivies (mid reaches?) and definitely good shots at the other schools because your ECs show a whole lot of determination/passion. I’m not so sure about the higher Ivies, since I don’t see a hook here other than your determination for med. Still, you’re an excellent candidate!

Please chance back
