<p>LOW GPA: Chance and give suggestions.
This is very unorganized SORRY </p>

<p>GPA : 4.1/4.8 . UW : 3.3
Rank : 170/1012 ; School very competitive ranked #277 out of 27000</p>

<p>Freshman year : 3.375 weighted and 3.2 UW
Reason : I was very sick . i missed 20 days of school . i got strep 2 times , and had the flu 2 times . I was also very depressed and my friends very bad influence and i slacked off alot.
* i took all academic classes.</p>

<p>Sophomore year : 3.85 weighted and 3.34 UW
First semester : still depressed . i slacked off and friends influenced me into not giving a crap.
Second semester : i got out of depression . i tried my heart out and got All A's and 2 Bs
*1 Ap class and 2 Pre-Ap classes </p>

<p>Junior Year : 4.8 Weighted and 3.6 uw
I just worked my butt off.
*4 Ap Classes and 4 pre-ap classes</p>

<p>Senior Year : 4.8 weighted and 3.75 uw (expected this year)
*6 ap classes and 1 honors and speech ( academic)</p>

<p>SAT:2310/2400</p>

<p>Ap Classes Ill have done by the end of senior year :
*AP Compsci
*AP Language
*AP USHistory
*AP Pyschology
*AP Human Geography
*AP Literature
*AP Euro History
*AP Government
*AP Physics B
*AP Calc BC

<p>EC : 250+ community service hrs , 40 hrs of app development at a camp , quiz bowl , red cross club , rubiks cube club , cricket club , french club , student council , and karate.I also made a company which makes iphone apps.</p>

<p>i want to go to Carnegie mellon (reach) for computer science , but my gpa is very low and its extremely competitive school . So i was thinking to apply their for physics (i also love physics) and get a good gpa freshman year and transfer to computer science . can i do that ?</p>

<p>So guys tell me my chances and what colleges should i apply to as safetys and for reaches . I dont mind going out of state ( i live in texas )</p>

<p>your standardized test looks good. subj tests? GPA might hurt chances, but you have solid AP’s. Carnegie is a maybe, depending on your subj test and math/reading scores. Good safeties IMO are UVA, UT austin, case western, UW, BU, UCSD. reach might be rice, harvey mudd, vandy, uchicago. carnegie mellon is also a reach i think. good luck!</p>

<p>If ur in top 7% of ur class in Texas u are auto admit to UT I think</p>

<p>carneige might be a reach but ik a girl with like a 3.5 gpa that got in so i definitely think you have a chance plus you have an awesome sat score! i mean i think you could probably get into ut. i do not think that uva is a safety because i had a friend with a 2400 and a 3.6 gpa that got rejected but then again schools dont always look at numbers. some other schools you should consider are virginia tech(good safety) o and umdcp has an awesome computer science program! good luck!</p>
