Emory, Michigan, New York University, Macalesters chances?

Little low for Emory and NYU…you should get into all others but the first two are reaches. Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1939905-chance-me.html#latest

I think your scores could use some working on. You have a solid list of colleges though – you have reaches and a target college. I would add a safety to that list. Here is my prediction:

Emory: Waitlist
Michigan: Reject
NYU: Reject
Macalister: Accept

i also applied to baylor for safety

Your scores and grades are a little low, and Macalister would accept you, but Emory and NYU are a reach… depends on essays/how unique you are!

Your GPA is a bit low, but you are taking a lot of rigorous courses. Your ACT score is in the lower-mid percentile, so it really comes down to your essays/reccomendations/ECs. Anyways, here are my predictions:

Emory - reject
Michigan - waitlist
NYU - waitlist
Macalester - accept

Best of luck!! Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1940017-predict-my-results-cornell-umich-emory-usc-etc.html#latest

You’ve got a great shot at most of your schools! Gpa and scores are on the lower end of average, but that’s not all they look at. I would say Emory is your toughest reach, then Michigan, then NYU, and I would say you’ll get info Macalester. Just try to stand out in your essays (but don’t force the topic, they can see right through that). Remember that a lot depends on the applicant pool, which is never the same year to year. You are still a very qualified candidate… Good luck, I’m feeling the stress too! Chance me back if you get a moment? Thanks!

Nice !! At this point, your GPA and APs are pretty set in stone, but if you still have a chance to retake the ACT, go for it. Improving your score could help you out  other than that, make sure your essay stands out and speaks true to who you are

whats ur chance me

You didn’t state what your major was for NYU. If you are trying to get into Stern or Tisch than NYU is a reach, but if you’re trying to get into CAS (maybe) or Stienhardt than your chances are a little better.

The only thing keeping you out of NYU is your UW GPA, but depending on the major you’re applying to than your chances for NYU will increase.

For example, I have similar stats for NYU (although I applied ED) My GPA is a 3.71 UW 4.23W with a large upward trend and a 32 on the ACT. I believe my stats may be slightly better and I applied ED. I will let you know if I got in on the 15th.

You may also get into LSP. (Basically if you have I think a 2.0 or 3.0 they will let you into the school/major you applied to after 2 years)

Reach: Emroy, Ann Arbour Michigan
Match: Macalester, NYU
Safety: Baylor

I feel like a lot of the scores are low especially for Michigan, NYU, and Emory. Do you have any leadership position in your ECs? that would be helpful as well. I think that you have a chance at the schools if you retake the ACT and write great essays.

Emory: Waitlist
Michigan: Reject
NYU: Accept
Macalister: Accept
Baylor: Accept
I think your stats are great. Your GPA is solid but your test scores are a little low for schools like Emory and Michigan. Your ecs are great too and I think besides Emory and Michigan you have a great shot at the other schools. Good luck!

I mean, it really depends on intangible things that can’t be put on a forum. For example, do you display the values that your schools value? How challenging are your courses and how good are your accomplishments in context, as in the opportunities you have available? the point here is that your scores and the stuff you have put here will not prevent admission; they’re fine. Of course, higher numbers are objectively better, but at this point don’t worry about that. Give it your best shot.
