Do I have a chance of getting into emory, vanderbilt, carnegie mellon, northwestern, washington university in st. louis, New York university, Rice University, college of william and mary, or university of chicago, or Gatech?
My backup plan is morehouse college or UF.
Also for background information I am a immigrant. I am from Africa.
Any advice is helpful, and please be honest.
I really want to know if it is possible for me to get into Emory. Thanks

Emory-high match
Vanderbilt-low reach
CMU-high match
Northwestern-reach
WUSTL-reach
NYU-match
Rice-reach
CWM-match
Chicago-reach
Gatech-match
I think you have a great chance at Emory.

Thanks, do you think hypothetically speaking if I compete in the siemens competition that would increase my chances for emory? once again, my gpa is low.

if u got ur gpa up you would have a much better shot. although u have reallllly really good ECs, submitting to seimens wouldnt make up for ur gpa, but try ur best for all your ECs

so which universities do I have a shot for?

Cmu u Chicago and wash u are all high reaches but rest ur good. Friends with better stats were rejected from these school. I chanced u back btw

Emory: High Match
Vanderbilt: Low Reach/Match
Carnegie mellon: High Match
Northwestern: Low Match/Reach
Washington university in st. louis: Match/Low Reach (isn’t it for everyone? :P)
New York university: High Match
Rice University: Low Reach
college of william and mary: High Match
University of chicago: Match/Low Reach (but they have a holistic approach )
Gatech: High Match

Indeed, your GPA is very low which may be a result of course load. Top colleges like to see applicants with rigorous course load, but at the same time, they want good GPA. Also, it seems you have a weakness in Math. You do need to bring it up that math score if you want to apply to Northwestern, U Chicago, Rice, etc. Otherwise, they would be reaches for you. To be honest, you probably should lower your standard and look at schools around top 50 instead. Your chance at the top 20 is not high. Consider UMN, UWI, UIUC, etc.
