I am planning to apply to all Ivies except Columbia, Stanford, Duke, Wash U in St. Louis, JHU, Chicago, Northwestern

What are my chances for this school, and in what areas do I need to work?
Thank you!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/592751-chancing-near-impossibility.html
that is mine;

I think you will get into every college you mentioned except for stanford and the ivies, because its like that for everyone.
Improve the SAT, you seem very well rounded it all aspects,
perhaps what you need to do to improve your chances to show you can be really good at something and then take it to the national/international level

^
that is what i heard a lot.
do u think colleges will cut me some slack for debate
cuz i'm non-white who struggles to compete all the native speakers?
and I am chancing you back right now! :)

HYPS- All crapshoots (good chance though)
Other Ivies- Match
Duke- Match
Wash U in St. Louis-Match
JHU- Match
Chicago- Match
Northwestern- Match

This is all assuming you're a US citizen, which I'm not too sure if you are

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/590601-omg-average-student-cc-what-odds.html

well i'm not a citizen nor am a permanent resident.
how much lower are my chances now?
chancing you back..right now! :)

Noticeably lower :(

HYPS - reach(as is for everyone)
Other Ivies - still a reach...but with significantly better chances
Duke - High match/Low reach
WUSTL - High match
JHU - Match
U of C - Match
Northwestern - Match

I think all you need to do is keep your GPA high and focus on getting those high test scores.
Now chance me please ;P

I'm so glad you're coming here as a junior and not as a senior. I wish I would have - I would have probably improved in certain areas I can't improve in now.

You have an extremely good/rigorous transcript and GPA, and phenomenal SAT math score - just retake it for the CR and W sections. You are well on your way to becoming extremely competitive, with all those pending SAT IIs and upcoming ACT. Now just one thing - your EC's/accomplishments need some work. Make sure you do something that will make you stand out. I'm not sure what that'll be though... And yes, even though Asian Americans are the "overrepresented minority", your first language was Korean, and you do/did have unique circumstances. Ivies will like that.

Chances:

HYPS - Low-Mid Reach (Need distinguishing achievements, not just breadth of ECs; depends on test scores too)
Other Ivies - Match
Duke - Match/Reach
Wash U in St. Louis - Match
JHU - Match
Chicago - Match
Northwestern - Match

Chance me? Thanks!

You not a senior this year, why the heck are you already chancing yourself...

yeah stanford and all ivies except for Brown and Cornell are reaches

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/580544-new-gpa-scores-georgia-tech-i-ll-chance-you-back-i-swear.html

Sorry to post in your thread about something different, but could you look at my chances thread? Thank you!

yeah stanford and all ivies except for Brown and Cornell are reaches

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/580544-new-gpa-scores-georgia-tech-i-ll-chance-you-back-i-swear.html

all Ivies except Columbia, Stanford, Duke, Wash U in St. Louis, JHU, Chicago, Northwestern

All ivies except Columbia- Most reaches, but some low reaches like Cornell.
Stanford- reach
Duke- low-reach, their freshman profiles have really high SAT scores for some reason.
WashU- High match
JHU- high match
Chicago- reach, do well on your essays
Northwestern- high-match

Your GPA/EC's will help you but your SAT scores put you slightly below average for all these schools. Get them up a little bit and you'll be fine.

nooob,
once i get my sat and act scores up
you think i'll then have a match for chicago?
what about for ivies, stanford, and duke?

As for now, I think your greatest liabilities are your SAT score and your ECs. You have a lot of ECs but they are somewhat spasmodic/don't convey your passion.
Raise your SAT score and you will certainly be a very strong competitor for all.

Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford- it is a reach for everyone
Other Ivies- low reach/high match
Wash U -Match
Johns Hopkins University- Match
University of Chicago- Match
Northwestern- Match

thank you!
anyone else can give me additional feedback?

bump bump bump

Your stats look excellent, and you have a decent chance at all of the schools you apply too. The leadership positions and summer programs help especially.
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/584536-acceptance-chances.html

yeah, it will definitely suck if you dont have citizenship/permanent residence ship. (i.e. international) Most of the international kids have high SAT scores (2300-2400 mostly) and high GPA. It will definitely put you in a very competitive pool. Anyway gl... thx for chancing me
