Chance me and I'll chance back(Any advice will be appreciated).

I am an international student applying to colleges this year. I would like to know what my “chances” of acceptance are at the following colleges - MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Carnegie Mellon(Mellon college of sciences), Caltech, Columbia, Princeton, UCLA, UC Berkeley(L&S), UPenn, Georgia tech, UWaterloo, UChicago, Cornell, Yale, Harvey Mudd and Dartmouth.

Intended Major - Mathematics(Pure Mathematics, to be precise.)

“Stats” -

ACT - took the ACT in september 2015.
Predicted score in ACT - anywhere between 33 to 36.
Subject tests - 760 in Math L2(I messed up), taking other subject tests in October.
School grades - 90% in 10th grade, 94.3% in 11th grade, 12th grade midterms - N/A(The results are not yet available)

ECs -

Research - I have carried out research in mathematics under professors from reputed universities. I have carried out 3 reseraches. 2 of the researches are over and the papers will be sent for publication in a peer reviewed journal very soon. All the researches have dealt with conjectures that were more than 5 years old(I don’t know how much this matters.) I have also got recs from my mentors. I have also entered the national fair for ISEF(The results will be out in November) this year and I hope that my research is selected for the national fair and eventually, the ISEF.

If someone wants to know more about the research then please let me know, I can tell you more about it.

Activities in current school - Vice Head Boy, Math club - president, Computer club - member and member of the orgainising committee for the school festival.

Activities in old school - Soccer team varsity captain, basketball team varsity captain, school house captain.

Financial Aid - Not required.

My main concern is, where to apply. I don’t have a counsellor in school nor do I have a private counsellor so I don’t have anyone to guide me through the application process. Any kind of help will be appreciated.

I apologize if there are any typos.

I think, except for a couple of those, you are aiming too high!

@uclaparent9 Can you specify those colleges? If possible then can you also say a bit more on why I might not get into most those colleges?

You have no SAT/ACT score yet and based on your accadimics alone, your chances are not that high for elit schools in your list. Besides, as an International, your chances are even less. It is good that you have done research, but you need to have the basics done well first. Except perhaps for Geogia Tech and U of Waterloo (base on its rank only, as I am not familiar w/ it), your chances for the rest is not that good. Have an ACT of 35+ then many doors will open up to you!

…also to Major math in an elit school, Math II score of 760 is not good at all!

@uclaparent9 Thank you for your help.

@uclaparent9 Yes, I know that 760 is a bad score.

I wouldnt freak outnover your math II score, I understand you love math though. As an international studen I would apply to some lower tier schools because its even harder to get into any school as an international student. Furthermore, what ultimately matters is grad school, so dont worry about going to a big name undergrad too much. I think you have a shot at the schools youve listed but they are all high reaches for or reaches for an American student let alone international.

You should consider Georgian Tech, Purdue, Michigan, and maybe even USC(my dad’s best friend works as a professor at Caltech, and the running joke is USC is about to buy caltech, its actually not a joke though, they have essentially unlimited resources and they just bought scripps university!)
